Raising my personal dps as Warrior!

With the new savage fights out, I’ve been struggling to get my dps numbers past 6k.
Last time I checked Fflogs my personal dps was around 5.8k, which I thought isn’t too bad.

But I’m stuck on ES2 and groups have being telling me I need to reach at least 7k to help clear. How? Because I’m pretty average overall. You guys got any tips?

By the way I’m on the ps4, so I can’t parse myself.

Make sure Infuriate isn't being used during Inner Release. Keep Unga Bunga on cooldown, don't overcap on infuriate charges, maintain as much standard GCD uptime as possible, keep Upheaval on cooldown, make sure one upheaval and onslaught fall in Inner Release's window.

I don't think there's much more to do than that.

It's true that you should aim for ~6k in E1s which is around average for WAR. 5.8k for your first clear is fine, try to pull some more tricks (like charge timing) to keep uptime, or train your rotation.

For E2s, it's also true that you should pull ~7.2k DPS. But don't be surprised by this, E1s has a lot of downtime in comparison (remember that cinematic transition?). E2s is a fight where a tank can play almost full uptime. Hit the E2s SSS dummy and try to reach the goal. If you do, you have 7.2k+ DPS, congratulation.

^Just keep Kabooa's points in mind, and you'll be fine.

The best way to increase your DPS as a warrior is to be a Gunbreaker.

Time your Inner Chaos uses during buffs. You don't need to use infuriate the and IC the moment they're available, hold them and use them until say, trick attack or Brotherhood are up. If you're about to hit 2 stacks of infuriate, use it before it reaches 2 and hold onto Inner Chaos until the right moment. You get 30 seconds to decide when to use it.

Its all pretty standard stuff. Its simple on paper. Keep everything on cooldown. As soon as upheaval is up use it. As soon as IR is up. Use it. Never let eye fall off. Never stop spamming gcds. Dodge mechanics within melee range whenever possible. When impossoblenise charge to get back from any significant distance. Use knockback prevention. All simple ideas but you cant let these things slip in real fights.

I hope I don't have to say this, but just in case. Fully meld your gear. Eat good food. Use the best potions.

For e2 specifically, dodge all nix patterns in melee range. Ive seen a lot of people struggle with the 8 way nixes as melee classes and give up to run way out to dodge. You can dodge every nix pattern while hitting the boss with proper movement. This gets more important in the final phase. Make sure you get real comfortable in the early single nix waves because if you cant do the sime ones, you have no prayer at the end and maintain uptime.

There is not a lot you could do to raise it if you dont know everything about the duties you are doing.
Timing IR and etc is crucial for performance.
You may do your rotation 100% accurately but it wont make you a top performing warrior, you will have to know the raid/dungeons from tip to toe in order to perform well.
The other thing you could try to do is to gear up into higher ilvl, what stuff are you wearing at 80 lvl?

A big suggestion I'd give you that I don't think I've seen here is to watch other WAR clears of E2S. Figure out what they're doing and replicate it. E2S is (mostly) a static fight and WAR doesn't have any RNG in it's rotation, meaning that you can basically do whatever they're doing and hit roughly the same numbers (depending on melds/gear/food/etc).

Thank you all the tips and tricks for raising my personal dps. I’m using standard 450 gear from eden, minus the two 440 pieces. As for melds, I just crit materia, and if I can’t meld crit, I use determination.

As pots, I use only once per battle(saves me a bit of Gil)
