    Wyvern Suggestion

Admittedly, I am not a Dragoon, though I hope to be one eventually (Lancer/Dragoon is the next job on my list). But since the release of v2.0 info some time ago I've had an idea to solve the Dragoon wyvern debate, and that is this:

There have been promises made of being able to bring our mounts (i.e. Chocobos) into combat with us. If that is indeed going to be the case then it would be quite simple to give the Dragoon a job exclusive wyvern mount that would have comparable strength to a chocobo in combat. This would give the Dragoon job a unique fighting companion without having to make any changes to the job itself (since everyone else would have their chocobos to assist them, it would be largely an aesthetic change). This could be made to be either exclusive to dragoon (only able to summon your wyvern mount while on the dragoon job) or it could simply be a reward for a dragoon job quest (allowing a player who has completed the quest to summon it as any job).

This does however present some difficulties, since the wyvern mount should be ridden but not be able to fly (unless other flying mounts were also introduced for other players to use). But it could be a landbound wyvern (something like the serpentine drake mobs) or a low hovering wyvern that would be subject to the same obstacles as a chocobo. Furthermore it would certainly need it's own set of combat skills to differentiate it from the standard chocobo mounts which may inadvertently cause one or the other to be more powerful, but hopefully this could be balanced appropriately and not be too noticeable.

Keep in mind that this is just a cursory suggestion, but it would certainly seem to solve the concept of the dragoon/wyvern bond while maintaining the job's independent strength.

If you like this idea, speak up so hopefully the devs might see it. If you don't like it thats fine too, just keep it civil.
