Change Direct Hit so it has no effect on Tank Jobs

Lots of Tank players are confused with Direct Hit, making it the meld of choice for endgame content instead of the intended Tank Stat Tenacity.

Currently right now, lots of Endgame Tank players who melded Direct Hit on their gear are using the Direct Hit melds as a tool to harrass non-conforming Tanks who use Tenacity instead.

Maybe SE, can help fix this issue by disabling Direct Hit stat if your job is a Tank and buffing the Tenacity stat instead so it will be the Go To Materia for Tanks.

Wow, players have preferences? Tenacity has been a weird stat and I've seen people either do the DH route, or the full Tenacity route. Though how are you so sure that 'lots of Endgame Tanks' are harassing others?

And sounds like people who go full tenacity don't want a little bit more damage in this case are are possibly ignoring it. I've seen people with full crafted that melded all the Tenacity they could, and put on some DH on top of it, since with the base DH that tanks have, you never get a hit in.

There's also Bard, who gives all party members a Direct Hit increase. That'd be wasted if it goes from 1/8 players not being able to get the buff (The bard can't get own buff), to 3/8 of the party now getting the buff, hampering Bard's benefits to the group.

ALSO - This is the forum for giving feedback about the Site/Forum/GMs, so this suggestion will probably be moved to general discussion.

I kinda dont see why the mana stat is healer only, Tenacy tank only but DH is free for all... it should be the dps only stat imo. But yes buff tenacity a bit.

If you're talking about that thread in General on materia, it actually ended up more an argument where some in favor of Tenacity were claiming it was the better tank stat and that Direct Hit melded tanks where much harder to heal in dungeons and died twice as fast. Which is false. Tenacity is perfectly fine as a stat, but the differences between full Tenacity and full Direct Hit is like 5% damage reduction and 2% dps. In other words it barely matters and it's a playstyle preference.

Direct Hit is in most cases superior in Savage and Ultimate because the enrage timer is by far more dangerous than tank damage intake. That's just a fact and how Savage is designed.

In EX and below you can meld whatever you like, the majority of players won't care and both stats have their own merits.

As for the topic. No. Choice is good.
