Crazy, I have gear for all DoW jobs, and DoH/DoL classes (have kept DoH/DoL up to date each expansion) and have never bought an extra retainer. It only seems like it's not enough because you are a packrat. There is no reason for you to be holding onto that Gridania Walnut since your botanist was lvl 10. Sell your stuff. I'm sure if you check prices on the market you'll probably find that all this stuff you are hording isn't even worth that much gil.
