Melee suggestion for a Mch main?

Heya, so I main Mch and I adore the job to pieces, but I've been wanting to give melee a go since I've not seriously played a melee since 2.0 was released. What melee job would you recommend that is comparable in skill to Mch or is just overall addictively fun to play? I've already removed Ninja from consideration mostly because I never really liked the rogue/ninja class type. In the tank department, I main Drk since I love swords lol. So do y'all have any recommendations? ^_^

Samurai is the DPS that uses swords, so you can try that. Dragon would be another good choice. I know several people enjoy playing those classes.

I haven’t played MCH yet, so I can’t relate to that but, I recently started SAM and I really like. It’s fun mechanics and good AOE. Pretty cool job IMO. I main BLM, so SAM having high single dps and AOE options is an easy transition. Although, playing a mDPS, I’ve now notice more between good tanks and terrible tanks

I am (or was, i'm not sure yet lol) a Dragoon main but i've recently lvled my MCH and been loving it a LOT myself. So much that i'm considering swapping mains.
If you like swords, go Samurai.
If swords don't matter too much, Dragoon is amazing though. Really cool animations, love their AoE, it's not too hard to play. Has some DPS utility & good DPS. DRG also has quite a bit of oGCDs to press but has the slowest GCD of all Melee jobs.

I’d say personally all the melee jobs are good gameplay wise except ninja which is abit all over the place.

    - Samarui is ur sword boi, it’s great gameplay wise, due some buffs in 5.08/5.1, other then this it is a strong choice. It’s easy to play with lots of room to optimise to maximise your dps.

    - Dragoon it’s become easier to play in SHB with some cool mechanics. It’s a very overpopulated job currently due to its strength and the fact it seems most people’s favorite job.

I’d say pick one of these.

Monk is a option also, it’s fast paced like MCh espically now it’s been changed up a lot for the better. I would say it’s defintly gotten a lot easier to play. So it’s prolly easier to pick up.

I’d personally pick up SAM it’s certified to get buffs in future so u know it’s only getting better. I’ve a few times considered picking it up myself

I agree here, SAM, its semi-intacted rotation wise from 4.0 (IE little change thanks to SE giving us the Sen-reset move back, even if weeker payoff) & as a Person who's been main MCH since it was added I fell back on SAM to get a lv80 when I was sorta stonewalled by 5.0 MCH's new rotation & just wanted to play the MSQ. While you might have MORE skills to use, it has a slower feal rotation-wise & while it seams to be a "hug the mob" Melee class it can feal almost as mobile as a range DPS with its 2 distance ajusting skills
