I can definitely see what people mean when they say death is more punishing to a scholar than an astrologian, but it still feels worse to me on astrologian. It could just be that I have more experience with scholar, so my response to death is more along the lines of "yeah, okay, dead, I can deal with this", whereas I tend to get more derailed as an astrologian.

Losing mana and time is a serious detriment, but I don't mind so much because it's an interesting hurdle to overcome. Getting back on track without sufficient mana can actually be kind of fun.

Whereas losing all the work you've put into seals and divination doesn't really make that much difference, but it's more discouraging to me because the work I did counted for nothing.

(Losing my fairy gauge is a bigger problem, but since I mostly use aetherpact for trash pulls I'm fine with just ignoring it until the gauge builds back up.)
