The policy and rules are there, if someone admittly using such tool, it could end up being banPeople will be called out on farms as well. When a kill takes 10 minutes instead of 5, and I potentially have to run it 99 times that's equal to 500 minutes, or 8 hours, which is more than I get to play in total mo-fri, wasted by people either slacking or being bad. Doesn't fly, they get a warning to step it up or be kicked if they don't.
And if you have to farm all 99 in 1 week, look for another party or just kick the player.
Hate that I couldn’t edit on phone.
Officially such tool is never allowed, not on any platform, they just assume no one using it. One can only get ban if admit using such tool, and SE do not actively searching player who might be using it until a report is being submit. SE clearly believe the bad bought by such tool out weight the good it does.
If you design your game's encounters around having to do X damage in Y minutes, thats what it boils down to tho. Players looking at parses and a player only being worth the DPS they bring is merely the natural, logical reaction to that formula, from the game's perspective it's kinda "working as intended".
If that’s what you looking for I suggest an improve stone sky sea. A stone sky sea told you if you do enough damage to pass the fight required in set period of time, it have to be able to reflect real fight scenario and tell you if you pass or not, and if you fail it could give you a little indication like close just need to work abit harder, still a way to good and far from it. Little bit like how garther work in 1.0If you design your game's encounters around having to do X damage in Y minutes, thats what it boils down to tho. Dummy fights and a real fight scenario with mechanics are totally different things. Sure, they will find out if they have or dont have enough DPS for a stationary boss who doesnt have any mechanics, but...
How many of those are in this game? They wont see how punishable it is to disengage for another 0.5 seconds etc.
It might be nice to have a parser and combat logs built in that referenced other people only by their job name plus a number if there were dupes. So the combat log itself would even not name the others in a group, such that third party sites would only be a record of personal logs.
Seeing how you compare to others is vital for determining how well you’re doing. But those others could just as well be anonymized to prevent “shaming”.

(SSS) Stone, Sky, Sea, worked originally for Alexander Savage because it had Door bosses and back then a lot of players didn't pass the DPS check. So lots of parties never got into the real fight. Now that door bosses are gone, SSS needs some changes or SE maybe needs to have a system to show players a basic rotation. For example, maybe add an Advanced feature to the Hall Of Novice, or have a NPC from Job quests show examples of a basic rotation. For BLM maybe show the Sharpfire opener and what your rotation is after that. So players at least know the basics. And players can learn advanced openers like No Blizzard 4 opener on their own. But yeah SSS worked for Alexander but for the new Savage, we need something else.
I want a dps meter that will just show me my own numbers. I dont want to know what others are doing really. It would be nice to have a dps report after every encounter but it would be great if they could just give us our numbers during the Stone, Sky, Sea.
Which the devs know and understand, and why they turn a blind eye to it in this game and why it's allowed via the modding API in Blizzard's flagship MMO WoW.If you design your game's encounters around having to do X damage in Y minutes, thats what it boils down to tho. The point I was getting across, though, is that BOTH companies do not want to have a developer created and maintained damage meter.
