Trusts and suggested Characters

But are there any characters you would like to see added to the trust system as potential companions?

Maybe hide a few in the open world or behind quests?

A few I've thought of

Crystal Exarch - they didn't have to remove him >:

Captain Lyna - Same reason as Exarch

Lyse Hext - Because we need more fists.

Estinien Wyrmblood - gotta get the bouncy grumpy one perhaps give him a unique "Azure Dragoon" for his class name

Fray Myste / of the Onyx Shade - A quest reward for DRK

Shantotto - BLM quest reward

Hildibrand Manderville - "Gentleman of Light" He doesn't fight, all he does is pose. this is enough of a reason for all enemies to ignore you and go for him.

Ardbert - Completion of Shadowbringers

Branden - Completion of Tank questline

Renda-Rae - Completion of DPS questline

Nyelbert - Completion of DPS Caster questline

Lamitt - Completion of Healer questline


Perhaps even a few other Crossover characters?

Job quest related NPC's. Like Raya-O if you've done WHM, or Hilda if you've done MCH, Stuff like that.

Gimme also Sylphie from the Conjurer questline and a clone version of Mylla the Gladiator instructor. Aldis would work as well .

You do realize FFXIV's Trust system is nothing like FFXI's and so the NPCs forming your party are the actual npc, and are not a magical construct like the FFXI version? Hence why it's impossible for Shantotto and other crossover characters to be a part of it - Shantotto for instance returned to Vana'diel ages ago, so she's out completely. And correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Trusts here relevant to the story dungeon to be undertaken hence why the selection is limited?

I hate to say it, but you're not going to see much of an expansion into FFXI's version, that's just facing facts. Really you're more likely to see an expansion of the Company squadron into more content - the Trust system will probably remain SHB centric due to lore reasons.

Once you finish Shadowbringers pretty much all the trusts become not lore friendly. you can bring Ryne and Y'shtola to the ver first dungeon, that's quite awhile before you actually meet them storywise. I expect future MQS dungeons will be the same where you can only select from the cannon roister complete it the first time then it becomes a uncannon dungeon.

I know you're a lover of the lore and all but...
I don't think Trusts are here because of lore reasons. Pretty sure they did it so it can help the DPS and it's terrible Q times.
If it's well-received, then we might (hopefully!) see Trusts get some sort of expansion.
All they have to do is give them a few lines and text bubbles if they wanted and call it a day.

I like Trusts, hope to have a big variety, hell, add the retainers in!

I think they might be talking about Shatotto, who is an entirely different character.
