Viera's get their own hairstyles?...

I don't have any problem using Viera so far. Of course, that is because I never get any of those paid or locked hairstyles yet and I don't see any problem with the few options we have by default (but I'd like to have more options in the future).

Although, I feel for people that bought hairstyles or unlocked them through difficult to get places (like dungeons or PoD, or whatever). I hope that for every existing hair style that is obtained by difficult or paid means they make unique versions for Vieras and Hrothgars. So when always using one of these hair styles they switch to versions for such races avoiding problems to people that bought or lost their precious game time to unlock those styles. I hope SE focus on these special styles first before creating new ones that can be obtained normally.

For Hrothgars, of course they will create more hairstyles based on the same head formats they have. It would be awful and silly if they create something to force you to change it by only through the use of a paid Fantasia. It's quite impractical and unfair. Though, they will have less options because each head will limit them. Alternatively, they may allow changing the entire head along with the hair without the use of Fantasia every time. But, again, they will have issues with the faces within each hair changing. This will force them to create more than 1 hairstyle for each head... unless they create infinite heads for them

After a couple days to sit on it, and let the steam off I think I will adopt a "wait and see" mentality. Even if they were going to come out with our missing hairs, they wouldn't be here for a long time anyway. We would have been stuck with what we have now initially for a long while either way. I highly doubt they would actually try to get those or the supposed new unique styles out in a very quick manner, just the way it is. Staying viera, more confident in that than the other day when the news broke.

If they truly mean unique versions of our unlocked styles will be added, I really just wonder what that means. Hrothgar I can see them having to have a more heavily altered variant, but viera's should pretty much look exactly the same, right? Are they just going to put new styles to serve in place of our traditional modern aesthetics styles? Personally, I'd rather just have the same hair but fit to the viera head, since apparently, according to them, that's the issue. If they do do wholly unique styles for viera, I'm hoping they are high quality, and actually pretty good.

Honest answer? I think they don't want to do it because they don't care too much about it. Get a small team of people working on it and get it out of the way asap. You won't hear anyone complaining about it EVER again. If a single modder can do it at home in his free time, so can the company that owns the game. "yeah, right, but you have these complicated stuff about models and..." You literally have ears sticking out of robes with cowls right now in the game. Do that with everything. They gave up on trying to avoid clipping. Current Viera hair clips with everything and we already know that.

They had to have known this wouldn't sit well with their players since the vast majority of their player-base spends a great deal of time and money on cosmetics.

I'd really like to know how this effects hairstyles they add in the future, or if this is limited to old hairstyles. A lot of people paid actual money to race change to the Viera, which they knew would happen, and will have to pay real money again to change back to a different race that has access to the full selection of hairstyles.

They were probably worth implementing in this state for the short term gains, and marketing appeal. Something to worry about later. Though, didn't they pretty much state they were finished?

They'd get a lot more out of reworking the exclusive hairstyles first.

It's going to take time but we'll get a lot more hairstyles. I think the head gear and hairstyle issue just goes to show how difficult is was for them to add two new genders. I'm so happy to have both of them and although I'd love more now I'm relatively certain we'll see a lot more hair choices. I hope 5.1 has a mix of new and some older ones.

If this info is correct then it's not an issue of can but want imo.

As in it could be a design decision, like deciding to make Hrothgar the way they did.
Over-all I expect many to not be happy with it but I don't expect it to change. Personally hoping we get the first wave of updates sooner than later, want to see their answer to the "WTF do we do about Hrothgar hair?" full on. Can hope that they change things to allow us to change hair in such an update but I expect disappointment.

I'd think Hrothgar hair would be hella easy. It's mostly big sections of hair placed into some manly style that has no highlights or much detail to worry about ... I can think of tons of cool beastly styles I wanna see that wouldn't be nearly as hard as making a normal style.
