A Question for South American Players - Ping and NA/EU servers

Hi!

I am not sure how many south americans participate in or read this forum, but I recently discovered that, at least, for brazilians the servers located in North America (NA) give us about a little more than 300ms of ping.

This is horrible and requires using VPN to try to reduce latency. As the best VPNs are expensive, it gets a bit tricky to play and pay for both subscription and vpn monthly for just one game.

But for european servers (EU) for some kind of geographic logic challenge they give us around only 200ms - value we had on NA servers before the changes. With 200ms it is much easier to play without using vpn (not ideal, but, pretty much playable).

Would brazilians and south americans as a whole have to play on EU servers? What would happen to Behemoth, the "unofficial server" of brazilian players?

What about european times compared to south american times? Would there be many brazilians playing on european servers?

If there are more brazilians and other south amercians here, please respond as how you do to play with so much ping and if it is worth migrating and staying on the 'old world' servers.

well, no body answered this so I think there is no more south americans here other than myself :P

In this case, I'll go for EU servers even my account being NA 'cause I got less ping there. Sadly, the time when I can play will be the same as they have to sleep, but that's fine since I get less people around aetherytes in cities and do all duties normaly.

If another south amercian wanna join me someday just look for me at Omega server :P This is an alt, but I'll stick with her for the next months. It's a good way to start things over again.

Im using NET Virtua(100mb) and for me goes from 160 to 200 cap max on bad days without vpn, never got more than 200.

Here my numbers (based on what cmd ping command for each data center shows me):

NA = 310 ~ 330ms
JP = 360 ~ 380ms
EU = 190 ~ 220ms

Somehow, I am more close to Europe than any other place and, somehow, USA and Japan are neighbors '-'
I live at south of MG, Brazil. But it looks like I live at Moon or at some vulcanic deep between JP and USA, but close enough to Europe... '-'

This happens only with this game. If I play BF4, for example, USA servers there gives me 120 to 140ms ping only.

So, the solution in ffxiv for me is EU servers, sadly.
