    Question.

Did you try and help the sprout in any way like informing them of their soul stone related stuff, ways to get gear, or did you just come to complain instead?

This might be their first mmo, I can remember the first one I played and honestly I did a lot of dumb stuff in it. It takes time to get used to these kinds of games and 2.x content goes by so bloody fast now with the exp boosts, they could have only been playing for a few days for all you know.

I'm stuggling to understand why you would expect someone doing an MSQ quest and not even level 50 yet to play the game to your strict requirements. Really all I can suggest is to get over yourself.

Asking for a lvl 44 to have their job stone, or for a tank to not be wearing caster gear is "strict requirements" really?

Though honestly both of those should be fixed on the dev's end, not allowing brayflox+ without a job stone, and fixing the 'recommend' gear button to not suggest caster gear just cause it's higher vit.

If asking someone to wear appropriate gear is strict, I guess you would be fine with players wearing nothing but racial starting gear and level 1 weapons at level 44.

No offense but "I'm going to play a tank" should, by L44, at least come with "I should wear the toughest armor I can find...so maybe I shouldn't wear this cloth armor with intelligence as it's main stat". I don't think that's a strict requirement on the part of the OP, nor does - since the sprout had had to complete the quest where he's given his soul stone and told how to use it - having some reasonable expectation that said sprout actually equip it.

I have no expectations that a new L44 tank who hasn't tanked before to have eyes in the back of his/her head, anticipating situations where aggro is going to get ripped away and proactively handle it, know how to perfectly position bosses so they don't cleave the group, etc. I do think it's ok to expect someone who wants to tank to at least use the stone and put on role-suited gear as they trip over it.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked that people are actually defending the level 44 jobless tank wearing caster gear in group content (and getting liked for it!!!). Are we supposed to have the attitude that all new players are basically mentally challenged babies who have no ability to acquire information for themselves if we don't say things like 'you should use a job stone =UwU='? Like, it's fine if they're doing a messy rotation or whatever, but this is a multiplayer game and you're doing your teammates an absolute disservice if you don't even make an effort to understand the barest basics of the game.

You don't pay my sub! I want to tank in a robe! You can't make me wear armor! Getting heavy armor is to much work and to expensive!

So... In defense of the 'new player' part, I'm pretty sure you don't lose the sprout until you finish ARR msq. With that said, for those people who are new to mmo, the class/job system is not readily explained (not even by the Smith system, which basically just explains roles). Its something you kind of have to know. This is my first MMO. I had a bit of a time picking up how THM worked because I was used to how caster worked in stand-alone FF, which is VASTLY DIFFERENT. Having been playing for a few years now, I realized that the most popular MMO are largely cookie-cutter games that reuse a lot of concepts, making it easier to pick up for MMO vets. However for those new to MMO in general its a steep learning curve. I believe the devs expected a large portion of initiation to be done by FCs (and the Mentor system, but we all know how that worked out).

That person only had one class (assuming i read that correctly). That was obviously not just a new player but a person new to basic MMO concepts. Instead of being a hero, you decided to be something else. I know its annoying but your tolerance should be higher in low end shenanigans than in high. Because the higher you go, the less excuse you have--assuming you started from the bottom. Maybe next time give the person some advice instead of salt packets.

Sprout is lost at 7 days played time and finishing Stormblood. It disappears as soon as you pick up the first quest to start Shadowbringers IF you meet the played time requirement. If you see a sprout in Shadowbringers content, it's pretty much guaranteed that they bought a boost.
