Stolen accounts too, see all the fake twitch streams that have been going on for the last 2 months trying to steal people's accounts. Not ALL RMT are from stolen cards , Yes there will be some.. And as far as paying credit companies back , Again some will have to be paid back , Not ALL..
And i'm also not convinced that all bots are paid accounts too , Or this would mean that every week or so when they do a bot wipe , thousands or tens of thousands of stolen credit cards are used to pay for accounts?.. Again i find this hard to believe..

They max out cards for multiple accounts. All they do is buy up a bunch of starter keys (they don't go past arr) that come with the free month on one card until it won't let them anymore and then move on to another card.

Again, the only way to really combat this is to remove the demand that's bringing the bots in.
The moment SE decides to do their own method of facilitating gil transfers between players (like how Blizzard did with their WoW token)...99% of the bots go away, probably overnight even.
The only other solutions are to keep doing what they're doing (which obviously doesn't work), or try banning players too (which [a] would be hard to prove and could lead to griefing and [b] still might not work and [c] would absolutely have a negative impact on their subscription growth)...or ignore the problem (which also wouldn't work).
I think for a start, they could at least remove the primary source of income for the bots, which are the gil drops in Amdapor Keep. They're far too small to matter to actual players because they can't round up the entire instance and burn it down with AoEs in the span of about two minutes like they can.
This would at very least force them out of instances and potentially reduce the amount of lag they're creating.

The thing too is that on a new or preferred server, when a newly made character there makes level 30, they get 1 million gil for free. Theres no reason to assume bots dont. Count your profit making all these bots on new/preferred servers... wish there was a different way SE could make incentives to play there. Or like a random instanced bot-proof check of sorts before giving a player their gil.

I did not get this 1 mil free Gil? That’s a thing?? o.OThe thing too is that on a new or preferred server, when a newly made character there makes level 30, they get 1 million gil for free. A new character made on a preferred/new server reaching level 30 at the time the server is still under new/preferred status.
I got that yesterday on my 12th character on twintania. And ironicly saw MANY bots at just about every MSQ location.
The bonus is a one-off per data centre though remember....
Bonuses for characters created during bonus period that attain level 30 in any class
Gift of 1,000,000 gil (*1)
Gift of 15 days of free play time (*2)
*1 Limited to once per data center region on a single service account.
*2 Limited to once per service account when creating a new character on either a New World or Preferred World.
Have you had the 1 mil gil once or more than once?

Basically Bot\RMT is lesser of two evils
If SE tries to compete and just adds everything RMT does to mogstation its set as the norm and absolutely ruins this game economy
