The way i read that, "reworking ruin potency to be higher" increasing its power "dependant on the number of dots inflicted on the target" so i read it as not an increase to ruin, but an increase to the buff to ruin from dots...at least according to this translation
Fair, I think it's a valid way to read it too..The way i read that, "reworking ruin potency to be higher" increasing its power "dependant on the number of dots inflicted on the target" so i read it as not an increase to ruin, but an increase to the buff to ruin from dots...at least according to this translation
My only caveat with that reading is how would that address the SMN original problem? Won't it make the original oGCD bloat even more punishing?
In my mmo experience woth game devs, "oh you have an issue with the cooldown of this ability? Well we are increasing the damage of the ability that leada into it! Isnt that great?"
Totally ignore the actual problem you were mentioning.
Sounds like the idea is better reward for the complexity, instead of necessarily just going with less complexity. It looked like he did say they were looking into extending DoT timers as well, so a buff and a little more leniency with tracking DoTs is a start.
Moar Summons
Upgrade Egis into useful Summons
All the things
Make Summoner great again... or for the first time rather

The whole Ruin/DoT mage aspect really isn’t that fun imo. It just feels like a boring load of filler in between the *actual* fun parts, being the Demi-summons. I say just get rid of the DoT’s and rework trance/summons to be more frequent and potent to compensate.

I wish more of the damage was moved to our egis
Please don't hate me for mentioning this, but I kinda wish they would take a page out of Blizzard's book and look how they changed demonology warlocks where different abilities summon/cast different pets. For example, remove a dot ability and make it summon a leviathan egi that shoots water bolts for a set amount of time. Something like that anyways.
I honestly feel this class functions more like elemental shaman then it does warlock now.
How about keeping ruin 4 while dots are applied? Or is that too broke?
