Ok... so thought i havent touched my smn just yet (but will be my caster dps) should i be more concerned? Or....Well the question seems to more related about skills line up together and less about DoTs themselve. Personally I don't think we have too many skills, just skills that aren't working together in harmony. The job feels "busy" because it's not smoothly going through a rotation.
Thanks for the shout out! I wrote it pretty quickly but hopefully, it addresses what people were keen on finding out from the PLL.Ah, here's something that Nemekh posted that includes the Japanese to English translation on the Live Letter if anyone needed it:

The Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LIII Update Thread had me confused a bit.

This translation gives me more hope. Sadly this also means either this or the official one is very wrong. hoping it's the official one.Ah, here's something that Nemekh posted that includes the Japanese to English translation on the Live Letter if anyone needed it:

Not terribly concerned at this point. As you level it'll feel a little off at times. Personally I still find it fun to play still and use it in Dungeons and my normal raids. It's really up to the player if it's something they like. But things might change between now and October/November

Right now the class is garbage but that just my opinion, I feel like in savage I have to work 10x as hard as everyone else while still pulling mediocre dps. If there’s no DRG or DNC present it’s even worse lol. Buuuut you should not be concerned at all the devs see that they jacked up with the class and intend on reworking it.
For casual content like dungeons, ex trials and what not it’s pretty great.
I'm curious when 5.08 will be dropping. I know 5.05 just came out last week, but maybe the beginning of September.
Ah, so they are considering DoT extensions then. In which case, I could live with that, as long as it improves the flow of things. I do still hope they address the clunkiness of the pets in the future as well, but otherwise this would be a fair start.
Thank you. Yes, I found the original Live Letter Q and A confusing honestly. It didn't quite add up. I don't know how buffing more damage on ruin quite makes sense for fixing any sort of issue with dots and dot timing.

TaiyouSeishin, If you haven't leveled smn yet, yes it's tricky. There is less mobility, a really tight timing rotation, some issues with dots, a lot of buttons going on, and some clunkiness. Some things are a matter of adjusting, some just seem like design that doesn't work. Overall, it takes a tremendous amount of practice compared to other classes (excluding nin) to get the rotation nailed down and you really benefit from knowing a fight inside and out. I leveled it anyway and I don't regret that, but I am definitely leveling other classes more before I try to maximize dps and lock in muscle memory. There's no formal release date on 5.08 yet (that I know of), maybe someone else has a guess as to when?
Q3: Summoner has many buttons to press and is very busy. Additionally, it bothers me that refreshing DoTs at the timing you activate Dreadwyrm Trance/Firebird Trance causes DoTs to fall off for a few seconds even when using Tri-Disaster. Are there any plans to reduce the amount of button pressing or the adjusting the duration of DoTs?
A3:
The dev. team is working on adjusting the difficulty of needing to press so many buttons. Regarding DoTs, we've received lots of feedback saying that players would like DoT durations extended, but we are instead considering reworking the potency of Ruin spells to be higher dependent on the number of DoTs inflicted on the target.
I’m confused about what Yoshi is saying about DoTs. Higher dependent? Did he mean lower? One of our problems is our dependency on DoTs to buff ruin. Is he saying he wants to increase this further?
Looks like there is some words missing: A early (fan made) translation said they would remove the requirement and that's the only way I can read the official translation to make any sense..
Yes it feels clunky at time, but personally I enjoy the class on a casual level. It's nice you don't have to concern yourself with the egis' health, it's nice to have the egis' ability switch automatically. It's nice the job integrates the egis a little more (No longer summon, sic and forget). There's problem with the implementation, but the concept is nice.
