I like it. Looks like casual summer wear. We have plenty of bikinis in game. The last two years gave us the SHisui style set and an alternative bikinis tyle with the frill thing on the top, but I like having this too. And it's not like it's super conservative or anything.

I don't mind them, I wear them myself on occasion. I have a problem with some people wanting every glam to be skimpy though. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

This is pretty much how I feel.

Glamour lately feels like people just compete to see who can wear the least amount of clothing, which is cool if you're into skimpy glams... But I'm not, I am pretty conservative in that sense. I don't mind others doing what they do, or wearing what they choose though - more power to 'em!

It's nice to have a more conservative option for swimwear. Again, I don't begrudge others for enjoying more revealing outfits, but it's nice to have the option to wear something else.

I think it's FANTASTIC that there's actually NOT a summer top that is a skimpy bikini this time? Not every single summer event one needs to be? Some of the girls like to have variety for NUMEROUS reasons. Look, I have collected all of the swim wear event items and there are a LOT to pick from... ALL of them are bikinis of one type or another. For ONCE there is one that is NOT showing tons of skin. There are people that actually appreciate that for WHATEVER reason that is.

Let people like things. VARIOUS things. For WHATEVER reasons they have. It's okay for there to be different kinds of beach outfits.

If you don’t like the new top, I suggest just wearing the older bikinis. I wear a skimpy bikini 24/7 lol. 50% because I like it, and 50% because I know it triggers everyone. Although I do agree that the design looks boring, so I won’t be participating in the event.

Square Enix’s FFXIV team has been very “ethical” lately, so I wouldn’t expect any skimpy outfits to release for probably another 2 years or so.

Agree with this 100%. Another bikini or unnecessarily skimpy outfit would have just been boring, we already have so many of those. This years top may not show THAT much skin, but it looks great and has a lot of glam potential IMO.
