I understand why you would be concerned after what you experienced in WoW, but I would also suggest try to keep in mind that the XIV devs are very different from the WoW devs. I know sometimes it might feel like you're not being heard, but as someone who's played since 1.0, Yoshi-P's team are really good about paying attention to player feedback.
