    Things to do in game....

So, I finished the MSQ on my main, seen here: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...racter/3272612

I'd post on him but sadly I can't because the forum is broken, see here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...aracter-Broken.

So now that we're past the, "COR. BUT, YOU IS ONLY LVL 70 <8B" part...

What do I do after I finish the MSQ, but have no interest in raiding savage or extreme?

    Things I'mma Do:

Complete every sidequest in the game as BLM.
Complete every map and get flying on every zone in the First.
    Level WHM/BLM/RDM/BRD/NIN/WAR/SAM/BLU/DRK on my main.
    Level NIN/WAR/SAM/DRK/MNK/DRG/PLD/BRD on this alt.
Complete EVERY quest in the game on this alt.
Get aether again on this alt.

    Uhhhhhh.... ????

Do I just unsub then and start playing XI? Any recommendations on what to do?

I do love RP, but I prefer long term RP with character growth/arcs/development.

    Taking suggestions, floor is yours.

Do all the daily hunts so you unlock extra speed mounts in all zones (has to be shared fates in the new expansion - get to rank 2 in all new zones for max speed)

    Do the beast tribe quests.

Level up your DoL classes as far as you can - do the daily GC deliver missions for them

    Level up your DoH classes

I'd not fuss to much about levelling other DoW or DoM jobs unless you really want to - focus on the DoL and DoH when not doing dailies as much as you can as they will help out tons in income earning potential and all those treasure maps you get will be super too.

    Post Moogle quests are fun

Hildibrand quests can be fun too - if a bit drawn out in places

Get to max GC rank and then consider switching GC to get to max in the other two also.

That should keep you busy for a while and there is still loads more to do.

I'm geniunely curious: What motivates you to run the same MSQ dungeons once again on an alt all th way to 80? Maybe it's because I'm clearly "allergic" to dungeons at an irrational level, but doing that stuff again is a big reason why making an alt character is - outside of skip potions - is not as an attractive choice as it "normally" would be.

The character you linked is lacking mounts. And as a massive proponent to mounts, I would suggest you gear up a main class and try clearing extreme primal content. You have ARR, HW, SB, and the 2 current ShB EX primals to go through for mounts. I posted the pics in another forum that has since... vanished, but they are all quite pretty and glowy. You'd enjoy them! You said you are not interested but you should definitely give them a chance.

You can run daily PVP to tally up wins for PVP ponies and ADS mounts.

You can participate in scheduled Diadem runs to work toward a pegasus mount and achievements/title. Check this forum out for the discord link. Please note that since ShB hype has not died down, Diadem runs have thusly also slowed but will most likely gain more interest as soon as the current content has had a few weeks in the limelight.

You can play Deep Dungeon, a roguelite, which includes Palace of the Dead and Heaven on High for the achievement and potential mount drops from the sacks obtained from within the duty. PotD has the black and red pegasus and Heaven has the dodo. Get 3 people together with yourself and climb to the peak! Or, simply farm for quick exp.

You can run savage content for mounts (minion during Midas only). Older savages can be unsynced, so if you're not so into higher end content, you can still profit off the loot and glamz if you post a PF and find 7 or less willing participants.

Gain beast tribe reputation in order to unlock new items in their own unique stores, which includes access to buying each tribe's unique mount.

Level a 70+ class in ShB fates with a party of at least 2 for the market achievements to unlock gem traders that can give you craft mats, minions, music, etc. TBD if they will do anything else but I like this experimental feature.

Level DoH/DoL to play the markets and make money. Warning: may take considerable amounts of time facerolling or accessing levekits from FCs or randoms. Not my favorite activity which is why I'm a hobo.

Start a relic quest chain for each expansion. ARR begins in the Shroud and will take you through old content farming for atma, light, and so on. HW will bring you to Azys Lla and ask the same of you. SB will introduce you to a new world called Eureka, which can get you some seriously cool mounts all at the cost of massive facerolling. You may need to join a revival scene in order to do this content since I'm sure it has died down massively. Still, I did really like the Baldesion Arsenal when that was the new hotness. I really enjoyed the sense of adventure. Worth the time investment imo but your millage may vary, and it will depend on how many other people are in the zone for success.

Level 1 DPS, 1 healer, and 1 tank to 80 to unlock Mentor Roulette for a shot at filling queues in content no one wants to do anymore. Be sensible and don't say anything stupid since you are here to satisfy their thirst for adventure and to get a win added to your 2000 for a special 2-seater mount.

Climb Kugane Tower for great screenshot and a feeling of accomplishment.

Participate in seasonal events. This month's flavor is beach bums and we will be celebrating the Moonfire Faire!

Do each Sightseeing Log entries for a chance at minions and bragging rights. Warning: ARR's are veeeeeery picky and require very specific weather and time requirements.

    ...

I can't think of anything else right now but I feel like that's a decent start for a new player. Welcome to FFXIV!

Oh, I forgot. You can also buy/gather specific treasure maps and go treasure hunting. Sometimes even takes you into a new instance that's mostly all RNG, all hype music and drops nice MB sellables.

    What I've been doing lately:

-I got all my gathering retainers a high enough gathering attribute so they can bring back the max number of ShB materials
-I finished the WHM ARR Relic... finally.
-Working on my SMN HW relic.
-Working on old ARR beast tribe reputations I never finished
-Growing Jute to make some Combed Wool Rugs for my apartment
    -Fine tuning my apartment decor
-Watching the MB for the price of Fireglass Leather to fall to a reasonable level so I can make a new vest
-Leveling alt jobs that aren't 80 yet... of which there are many
-Fine tuning my squadron and trying to get the specific recruits I want... there's a handsome Miqote boy who keeps eluding me >_<
-Leveling my Trust NPC's now that the xp gains were buffed
-Working on my crafting log for achievements
-Slowly doing the metric ton of fates required to unlock the tier 3 stuff from the gem vendors... I get bored rather quickly chaining fates.
-Collecting materials to craft certain glam weapons I want
-Selling stuff on the MB to make monies!
-Catching up on side quests I skipped while doing the MSQ in ShB
-Trying to collect more Triple Triad cards for my collection from the various NPC's

There's probably other stuff I'm overlooking but there's still a stuff to do, that I wanna do, that feels worth doing to me. Something I think any and all MMO's should aspire to providing its playerbase!

#1 I would do everything on one character because...why wouldnt you? This isnt WoW lmao

#2, All quests, literally everything you can find, all jobs etc. And I guess that'll be that.

I wouldnt go back to FFXI because good god. It takes 15 years to level up in that game

    .

Guilt. My alt is a character that will be levelling from 1-80 all the classes I boosted. The only class I have legitimately levelled from ARR launch to now is SMN. The rest are boosts cause I absolutely hate grinding.

I plan to make the Au Ra level everything except SAM to 80 by grinding dungeons.

I mean, I usually hit max level in an expansion... Stay for a few months and RP on Balmung... And then get bored and quit till the next expansion?

I know what I like to do, but I wanna do things that are... Not player created content?

A bit rude don't you think?

I'll do some of this, but I've already been told to kill myself, go back to WoW, and worse/etc in Duty Finder Alliance and Extreme Trials. Also people bitch about my DPS numbers, tell me to get good, send me aggressive tells...

I really don't wanna do any raiding or interact with this toxic and cruel community. But thanks.

I'm not really new, I've been playing since ARR/the relaunch.... I just quit after two months every expansion and go back to Everquest.

Oh, because of races. And guilt.

I live my Hrothgar more than any other race in any game, and I have played a lot if MMOs.

But the lack of customization makes having an alt nice.

I never intended to have an alt, but I had to make one to start getting my main fixed on the forums here. So.... May as well level him.

I plan to level all the classes 1-80 that I boosted on my main because I hate grinding.

I think it might be slightly different these days.

I saw a video of Mr Happy leveling from 1-99 in six hours.

I won't lie I really like the concept of SMN as shown in that game, with proper sized summons.....
