Would making it so Standerd Step and Technical Step give the DNC 10% damage while giving everyone else 5% help it any rather than adjusting potency of it's abilities?

I'm just going to take the standard step example:
A permanent extra 5% dmg buff would be kinda nuts and certainly threaten brd/mch
The website that shall not be named gives a better clue
I will use 95% as the base for Titan savage
Dnc:
aDPS = 11,013.47(going to round to 11k for ease)
rDPS = 12,474.72(going to use 12.5k)
Brd:
aDPS = 12,556.16
rDPS = 12,640.71
Mch:
aDPS = 13,140.83
rDPS = 12,785.84
Now giving dnc a permanent 5% dmg boost would change the numbers to roughly this
aDPS = 11k x1.05 = 11,550
rDPS = 11.55k + 1.5k(12.5k-11k as the only thing changed is dnc only) = 13.05k
This overshoots brd on a rdps level and damn near clips mch heels on its pdps to the point of why bring either of those two.
Believe or not physical range is fairly balanced with only a few hundred between each of their rDPS so i think technical getting buffed to 10% would actually close that gap perfectly fine without overtuning anyone, right now i think that would be the best course of action for SE to take (even if i wish for sabre being ogcd amongst other small things).

I disagree with this suggestion.
This would make DNC even more reliable on their partner than they are now, except now it would be for personal damage as opposed to raid contribution. It would force specific comps for groups, as the DNC would want to partner whomever gives them the most Esprit generation, taking the focus off of supporting the raid by partnering the highest damage dealer to get the most mileage out of the buffs they offer. This would also be very reminiscent of BRD/MCH's reliance on DRG throughout HW and SB; and, as a BRD main during both of those expansions, I'd rather not see that return in another form.

It depends on proc chance in class-mapping table and design philosophy.
The design philosophy here should be about same experience for DNC regardless of partner class assuming they're equal in skill.
If Monk has high dps and has quick rotation, the proc chance can be lower.
On the other hand, Summoner will give you a lot less proc because their attack is not about quick rotation. We can increase the chance here.
The problem here is that if SE did re-balance our partner class, they would need to re-tune the chance in mapping table.
If they did the mistake tuning, It would result in what you describe.

Sorry, but I don't want to be reliant on a particular class to have a decent proc chance. As it stands now, we Dance Partner the highest contributer to contribute the most in raid DPS because that is our job as a support. Not to pad our own pDPS numbers, and your idea would enforce such a playstyle.It depends on proc chance in class-mapping table and design philosophy.

Trying to force us to partner with a player that isn't the highest DPS hurts raid damage and enforces a specific comp just for our personal Esprit generation. I spent 3 years as a BRD main reliant on a DRG for a portion of my damage, and I'd rather not have something like that again. The developers are specifically trying to break forced synergies like what DRG + BRD/MCH had. Your idea goes directly against that.

My proposed solution is about making each class generate same Espirit proc rate assuming they're equal in playing skill.
If every class generates same Espirit proc rate, you still need to choose highest DPS partner anyway.
The proc rate should be scaled by partner's playing skill without the influence from class mechanic.
The goal is about consistency proc rate across all class not about higher pDPS.
By the way, The Math about Espirit proc rate is the following:
EspiritProcRate = DancerAttacRate*DancerProcChance + PartnerAttackRate*PartnerProcChance
Each class has different attack rate because of class mechanic.
So, To balance every class to give same EspiritProcRate, Each class will need different PartnerProcChance.
The pDPS from Espirit will depend on EspiritProcRate which can be balanced by PartnerProcChnace.
I hope that this is clearer. If you still think that same EspiritProcRate from each partner class still result in lock-meta, I will just scrap this idea.

I would like to see the "dancing" mechanic be used in more things rather than just Step and Finish; Curing Waltz, Devilment, Shield Samba, Saber Dance. I would also prefer Curing Waltz be a Heal over Time effect.
QoL: The AoE skills windmill and stuff should change to dance Icons like their ST counterparts do.
RNG: safety net: 5% proc chance for every fail, resets when proc. (Just to kill ob absolute horrible lucklet streaks
Saber Dance OGC
Improvisation: Still charges your esprit gauge but also allows you to use Dance steps to give minimalistic buffs to the party while dancing.
I thought for the longest time Curing Waltz WAS a HoT based on nothing. It just felt like it should be, somehow,
