I can understand that most people love the easy way like a 2 button rota for moderate dmg or easy/modarate parses. but there are also people who don't give a f*** and think rdm and the new brd are just braindead and mega boring to play... there should be rng and there should be support/utitily focused cls for those who don't wanna take the steamlined way... its not always about your personal DPS – so no don't touch the dances at all that would be the worst change we could encounter. : /

    Buff DNC to RDM levels? You mean, to the job that is just barely beating it in terms of damage? The job that is 1,300+ rDPS below BLM? The job that has been handicapped since its inception because the developers cling to Verraise being a utility worth taxing that heavily? That’s not going to fix anything. It will just kill off DNC.

    As would your nerfs. 1% on Standard and 2% on a party-wide Technical every 2 minutes? What would be the point of bringing the job at all at that point? AST’s Divination used to be a 6% buff every 3 minutes. What did people complain about regarding it (clunky gameplay aside)? That it was too weak for its cooldown. 2% on a 2-minute buff would be laughably weak. Why even bother pressing the skill at that point.


    Contrary to what people think, DNC is the lowest in terms of personal damage and total rDPS contribution. Even RDM and NIN, as much as they are suffering right now, beat DNC in rDPS. Despite DNC offering 1,600+ rDPS in buffs, its personal damage is too low to push it above any other damage dealer. The job doesn’t need nerfs to any of its utility: it needs potency buffs to its personal damage.

    I don’t mind potency nerf if it’s OP. It’s more fun this way of less rng.

    This is true. I am very tired of people that play non utility classes wanting classes with raid dps utility to be garbage.

    I like Sabre Dance as a GCD personally and would be sad to see it go. An oGCD version would either need a really long cooldown, a potency nerf to at least 300-400, can no longer weave with Fan Dance or other oGCDs, or would have to become an Apex Arrow scaling clone. I don’t think it could be made more reliable as an oGCD either without becoming too powerful and needing nerfed. I mean, if you could shoot off 600 potency attacks between GCDs reliably wouldn’t Dancer damage shoot up too far? I feel like it works best as it is personally.

    I’d like to see Improvisation worth using outside of downtime too. You can use it during the fight for the Esprit and healing boost but anytime I do I just think ‘should I really be doing this?’. I think it’d be really cool if it added a Regen effect to party members, it could either be low potency like 100/200 and last as long as you keep dancing. It’s incentivise using it during an actual fight and not just downtime, but because healing contribution is capped so easily it wouldn’t unbalance the job’s rDPS. It fits a lot with the lore of ‘dancing to heal the hearts and souls of yours party’ too

    That's what Shield Samba is for.

    My issues with DNC are pretty simple:

    Excessive RNG procs + the feather system is terribly underdeveloped.
    Flourish really needs to be turned into something actually useful. Adds to or caps out feathers, maybe?
    Curing Waltz. Its range is too low; no one stands that close together. Extend it to 15y like other AoE heals. I also feel the potency is TOO low for it to be particularly effective.

    Other than that, this is the only DPS I like thanks to it being almost entirely support.

    Potency buff on single target combos.

    Increase the freaking Feather proc chance already!

    Buff all Fan Dances(I/II/III)' potency. Damage is really sad without devilment.

    Remove party member dependence on Improvisation. Increase fixed amount of esprit gained.

    I think this much should be fair.

    Move the sound cue for Espirit bar from 50 to 80.
    Add sound cue when we get 3 feather procs.

    Finish Technical Step should has distinct sound cue.
    Devilment should play distinct sound cue for my partner.

    Ultimately, I want a system which player can customize and fire sound cue by monitoring class resource, jobs' gauge, skill off cooldown.

    For class balance.
    - Espirit proc chance should vary based on partner' class.
    - Feather proc need to be more reliable. The dps variation between bad proc and good proc is around 300 dps. The dps variation gap will be increased with more gear. Easy fix on programming side, Just let critical hit and direct hit modify its proc chance. It's probably harder for designer side.
