dx11 errors (error screenshot included)

i have been getting dx11 errors for quite awhile now and they have recently gotten worse the most common crash which happens EVERY time is actually on the title screen when the idle cut scene starts playing but over the last 2 weeks its started to bleed into the game with the same crash/error message at random times i have tried several things i have found on the forums (updating drivers, deleting folders in my documents related to XIV, lowering/changing in game settings, tweaking settings within nvidia control panel, ect)and nothing has worked screenshot of error below i can give additional information upon request

Have any updates or changes been made to the PC? When the game crashes, where there any programs running in the background when the game crashed? Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Mingqin, Could you create your own thread and provide the following:

- what was used to trouble shoot
- System report (go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.')

nothing about pc has been changed and i have tried with all other programs disabled/not running, all drivers have been updated (still crashing), lowered in game settings, tweaked settings in nvidia control panel as suggested in other posts relating to the same issue. gorb is right from what ive seen in that no help is actually happening that being said i will go ahead and post the report on the off chance my issues are something i am overlooking

The error you are receiving is a generic game crash. It tells us that the game could no longer operate correctly and needs to close. Since this doesn't quite tell us the reason for the crash, there are a number of possible solutions. The reason these particular troubleshooting options are suggested is because they all have resolved this issue in the past. However, it doesn't mean it will resolve the issue for every situation.

If you have not done so already, please try some of the following:

1) Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

2) Make sure that any anti-virus software you have has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV (and the locally saved data folder).

3) Remove any overlays you may have open (Geforce Experience, Steam Overlay, etc.).

4) Set compatibility mode to Windows 7. Right-click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7.

5) Reinstall Final Fantasy XIV.

I know that your team and you are doing the best that you can but can we get a real investigation by the coding team on what's going on because this started for everyone on patch day of shadowbringer none of the troubleshooting steps are working for 90% of the people having the DirectX crashes I think it's time that square enix admit it's not the users.

I know that your team and you are doing the best that you can but can we get a real investigation by the coding team on what's going on because this started for everyone on patch day of shadowbringer none of the troubleshooting steps are working for 90% of the people having the DirectX crashes I think it's time that square enix admit it's not the users.

I would have to agree with the sentiment here. I've been troubleshooting my own issue since it first popped up last weekend, and none of the suggestions posted in my own thread helped - and then the suggestions just stopped. I understand there's only so much the technical support staff can do, and that they may be waiting on word from further up the chain, but I hope the frustration and exasperation felt by those of us having these issues are apparent as well.

I was having the same problem with similar error codes. Additionally i had a 100% crash at msq cutscene from the butcher's blood quest. Both of these problems appeared after i continued playing post Shadowbringers update. Before this i never had any crashing issues. Today i found a fix for the problem, but it might be a case specific fic. I hope it helps in at least someway.

PC specs: Gtx 1050 (laptop), i5 7300HQ, Win10

I had my FFXIV on my external SSD even before Shadowbringers and it worked fine, no crashing whatsoever. Something has happened to the game or my external drive, which led to the crashing issues. So the fix for me was just moving the game from external SSD to internal one (which was not pleasant as i didnt have any room there.) There can be few reasons why the game started crashing now. Either my external is breaking apart (cant test this as i dont have other external), USB speeds are not enough for this game anymore, or some files get corrupted between the transaction, which leads to crashes.

So if you have the game on external, try to move it to internal SSD. If not, this might not help you. Hope this gave some tips as where the issue might be.
