I started playing in ARR and was pretty much only aware of the PF tool on a level bordering on subconscious until Shadowbringers.
It's definitely a useful tool but it's buried in among countless other menus.
Continuous Side Quests that just stop every 1/3rd of the quest for no reason and force you to talk to the NPC again and again to continue it until you finally make to the end of said quest.
I'm not sure why this is, but it's always irritated me to some degree every time I had to do one of these quests.

Here’s a new one;
Every time I think about playing Summoner, I just think ‘Naa I won’t need Raise’ ‘healers can handle all that stuff’, ‘nobody dies anyway’ and end up just going as a Dancer so I can pretend I’m a support job (my DPS is supposed to be this bad omg definitely not my fault don’t @ me ) and relax with stress free damage rotations lol.
Then, every time it happens, both the healers die and we have no casters. Any other time and it’d a smooth run. Its the always the one time I try to be selfish and just focus on playing the easy jobs that we really needed one with Raise lol.
I guess the best way to describe what annoys me here is; it annoys me when I don’t think about others and pay the price for it lol. Not annoyed at the others, just at myself for not coming the one job I have that could’ve really helped lol.
Also, related to this but it annoys me we can’t decide when to apply Everlasting Flight. Even if it’s just up for a standard AoE attack I always feel like it’d be really helpful for healers, especially if they’re having issues. But since it’s auto—apply, anytime the Regen would actually be worthwhile you can’t just use Phoenix at that point it because you can’t hold Summon Phoenix just time it with AoE attacks
I don’t know where all this Summoner frustration is coming from lol but it kinda annoys me that Earthen Shield can’t be used on other party’s lol. Not that I’m unaware how overpowered that would be (A 20% HP shield for any party member with 2 charges and a short cooldown might be a little strong lol). But at the same time, it totally feels like an ability you should be able to use on others
Ok last one, but not having any combat songs on Bard anymore annoys me because my brain just can’t handle it lol. Even now I keep trying to hit Requiem, then just end up wondering ‘why am I not singing?’ / ‘how is my mp bar full?’ / ‘why have I not stopped to cast yet?’. Maybe it’s just muscle memory from using songs so much before, especially Requiem lol

Players who spam their abilities and audible emotes such as /cheer or /laugh.
Players who try to remind me that I have filter settings

Length of beast tribe quest dialogue (I am quite sure most of those conversations can be cut in half)
SE seemingly does things like this to deliberately annoy us
Getting a 5 right on the middle of the mini Cactpot board as my "free number"
Leap of faith
When paired gathering nodes are placed 100+ yalms apart (seriously WTF is up with that?)
New dyes are not released with new patches. A little off topic here, but I also wish there was a 'match dye' option for those times we cannot quite match the color of another piece of gear we are wearing.
Leap of faith.
The cult-like atmosphere of the lore forum. It's pretty creepy!

Shun the nonbeliever!! Shunnnn!!
All hail our great ahriman loremaster and story saviour.
Seriously though, I guess we can get a little.... obssessed... but then it's because we love the story so much we just get really into it.![]()

Don't worry, I consider you to be one of the good ones.![]()

I do think it's getting to the point though where some people want the story to amount to moral instruction on their view of ethics, and I don't see why it should be. I guess if a game writer wants to use it that way, fine, but it's not like I come to games for that kind of "messaging".
Me, I enjoy sometimes embracing the dark side in a game's storyline, and I also think for many a game the story is often too nuanced to make it the usual Manichean (absolute good vs evil) drivel most people are used to from many an RPG. I don't need a game writer to tell me what to think or what message I should take from a story.
It's almost like they're trying to create an immersive setting.![]()
