    Controller not working since 5.05 Update

    Hi everyone,

    I have been playing FFXIV with a Razer Raiju (PS4) Controller for a while now and it worked fine until Patch 5.05. If I try to calibrate the controller, the game takes a while to find it and afterworks no inputs work and I can't even calibrate.
    The controller works fine in every other situation, it's only FFXIV that gives me a headache. I tried all the workarounds with Root Enumerator, reinstalling the drivers, disconnecting other USB devices, tried Logitech and Xbox controllers, and so forth but FFXIV ignores controller inputs since 5.05.

    Are there other people with the same problem or maybe even a solution?

    To clarify the issue, is this only happening with the PS4 controller, or all controllers you use?

    Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    I think I have found a solution.

    It seems like Steam is the culprit even while not playing the steam version of FFXIV.
    I connected a Hori pad for Nintendo Switch which is not recognized by Steam and it worked in FFXIV. So I quit Steam and terminated all its processes in Task Manager and FFXIV started to react to all my controller inputs again. PS4, Xbox, Logitech and Switch controllers all work like a charm now.

    Anyways, hope this might help someone else.
