Only 350 hours logged...started along time some years ago but didnt get far at all, stopped at lvl 41.

Came back very recently last month when Shadowbringers came out, with the encouragement of having some streamer friends who showed interest or are already deep into it and play it most of the time.

However, I still know very few friends who play it so I aim to look for much more friends so I have enough to have some online most times of the day


Also I am very new to FF Franchise and again to FF14, so I would appreciate meeting some people who know alot about the lore and make more sense of whats going on to me lol

Although I play on a different server (Balmung), I am on the same data centre as you, plus, my best friend who is also on Balmung spends a lot of time on Goblin due a friend of her's being there, so, although you sadly wouldn't be able to join the FC I co-run on Balmung (you can only join a FC of your 'home' server, in your case, Goblin), we do have a Cross-World Linkshell with quite a few Goblin people on, so, if you're ever bored use the World Visit system and see about hopping the aetheryte over to Balmung and give me a tell in-game and I'll invite you to JZ (and add you to my Friend List too if you'd like).

As for FF lore in general, the FF Wiki is a good start (just be aware much of the FFXIV specific info there is inaccurate at the least or outright wrong). Each FF game is unique and features entirelly independent worlds and storylines with some reoccuring elements, monsters, spells and the like, which FFXIV specifically references as fanservice. So you're not necessarily missing out not being new to the series, and picked a great introduction to the series, due to it's accessability and all the callbacks and references to other FF titles (and SE games in general).

I just started playing the free trial a while ago. I'm really enjoying the look and feel of the game. I have played both WoW and SWTOR, and while I am a massive Star Wars fan, I just like this game the best of the three so far.
