Seems to be right. Odd though, I swear they were intending on level 10 being a cutoff to reduce the number of zombie accounts getting transferred; maybe that got reverted in the time since.Right, that's what I'm thinking is also the issue here, the OP deleted their original 1.0 characters back in 1.0 years ago and so they cannot be restored, that only 1.0 characters that were still intact at the end of 1.0 can be transferred into ARR (my boyfriend also had this issue back when ARR launched in that he deleted his original 1.0 character back when 1.0 was still running to create a new one, and only that new one was available for him to transfer into ARR).
And if the Mogstation/SE Account Management System is saying there is no trace of 1.0 on your account then alas you probably cancelled your entire original 1.0 service account which also completely deletes the game code attached to it as well as any characters, thus losing everything forever. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way you can retrieve this information now I'm sorry.
Not true. Besides my 1.0 main I also had an alt in 1.0 that was still level 1 and I had never done anything with beside the opening movie in Ul'dah... and I could transfer her into ARR as well (and had the meagre gear she had started 1.0 with). She also had the Legacy mark as well.
So level and whatever you did in 1.0 does not determine whether or not it that character can be transfered into ARR, it just has to have been created in 1.0 and played the opening. That's all that is needed. If that character was set as 'cancelled' in your list of Service Options in the SE Account Management System at the end of 1.0 it can still be transferred. 'Cancelled' and 'Deleted' mean two different things, cancelled just means the subscription for that character was cancelled but the character data remained on SE's servers. Deleting that character is exactly as it says: the character data has been completely deleted from SE's servers and is unattainable. Deleted character data cannot be recovered and it is this situation that is the cause of where a character cannot be transferred into ARR.

Find Tony Stark and ask him to send you back in time

Not all 1.0 char got their mark, I had 2 char in 1.0 one got the mark(this char) and the other did not get the mark, if i remeder you had to finish the 1.0 msq to get the mark

You definitely didn't. My character was created at the start of 1.0, played for about a month and never again until 2.0. I definitely didn't finish the MSQ (my highest job was about 20!) and I have the tattoo.
Lots of other people in this thread have said the same thing and that their level 1 characters have the tattoo. As long as the character existed before the end of 1.0, it will have the tattoo.

Exactly. All characters created in 1.0 and transferred into ARR have the Legacy mark, regardless of what you did in 1.0 (incidentally, so do retainers created in 1.0 and rehired in ARR as well). If the Legacy mark is not showing on a 1.0 character that has been transferred into ARR, try typing the '/legacymark on' command, as that is meant to make it visible if not already (if you want to hide it you type 'legacymark off' instead). If it still isn't working, you might have to put in a bug report to SE as I do recall in a few rare situations back during the Beta test the Legacy mark becoming bugged and not showing for players it was meant to.
Either way all 1.0 characters that are transferred into ARR are meant to have the Legacy mark (and that also does not change if you change their appearence via Fantasia or the once-only character recreation allowed when transferring that character data into ARR). 1.0 story completion has nothing to do with it.

Any player who paid for any cumulative 90 days between the commencement of billing services on January 6th, 2012 and the suspension of billing services on September 29th, 2012 qualified for Legacy status, regardless of which 90 days were purchased or whether they were purchased as part of a larger plan.

Sooo.. good and bad news.
The Legacy Status was not manually given to accounts, but automatically changed when eligible. So yeah, legacy status is gone.
Also, there is no character on my accounts that would fit the description.
However, the Character with my name was FOUND , fits the creation date of 9th november 2010, but is NOT on my accounts. Like, what? lol ... I think I have another AccountBeing in touch now with Customer Services. oddly enough, they found a char the lodestone does NOT show when looking up..

Try logging in and searching all the data centers for your character. Sometimes, characters from 1.0 don't show up in the mogstation until you interact with them at least once in the character menu.Sooo.. good and bad news.

THAT is what it was! I now paid for the account and logged in and found a lvl50 Monk Legacy Character which started the game with the ARR Intro. VERY interesting.
Account still isn't legacy status thoughtoo bad. BUT I have my tattoo Character!

AFAIK the requirements are
Did you sub for 90 days during the period when subs were reinstated? You get the Legacy Tattoo, Chocobo and Legacy subscriptions.
Did you destroy the lunar transmitter prior to fighting Nael Van Darnus? You get the altered story content.
