How to get a Legacy Status?

I probably also cancelled my Service Account - But why did my Characters die with that? My FF XI Service Account was also disabled FOREVER and after Activation my lvl50 Samurai greeted me good morning.

It is super confusing ... I probably paid for 3 months in 1.0 . Is thre any possibility in the Mogry Kiosk to check any Transactions BEFORE ARR? So I can see WHEN I actually bought or paid subscriptions for ?

Cancelling your subscription is different than cancelling your service account. All you ever need to cancel is your sub, otherwise cancelling your service account deletes everything.

Also, those 3 months you subbed would have had to have been in the final year of 1.x, otherwise they were not counted for the campaign.

Cancelling the service account does not delete anything, and you can come back later and re-activate still. The only way to delete an account completely is to call SE and request it be deleted.

I bought 1.0 at release, created a character, played it for I'd say about 3 hours, and didn't log back in until 2.0 release. My character had the legacy mark.

IIRC when Legacy was being brought up during the beta prior to the release of ARR the sub time was dropped as the requirement since people thought it was unfair that they would have had to play what was a very broken game in order to qualify, so it was changed to having a character on an active account/having purchased 1.0. Or what Dsherman said.

I wish I could remember the login information for my old ARR 1.0 account. :C

To add onto that if they had dropped the sub requirement we legacy players who had paid would have been extremely angry. Also at the time Arr beta came about the servers were down.

This is untrue - 90 days sub was always a requirement.

All characters were transferred. Your character may be on a Japanese datacenter, mogstation should tell you, unless you deleted it and forgot about it.


Legacy status was part of a campaign. You had to sub 3 months in 2012, and they sent emails about it. That was the reason I returned to 1.0. That and the goobbue mount. If the new game was going to be good, I wanted to be a part of it, and the benefits were nice. Perma discount and some unique stuff. Plus, the nael fight at the end of 1.0 was neat.

You wouldn't have a trace of 1.0 on the account. The only difference was legacy status. All 1.0 licenses were rolled into arr licenses.
