    Rowena's turn-ins, gathering vs crafting

Gathering: Go to timed nodes, grab as many collectable items as you can, and turn each one in for a bunch of scrips. An hour will yield enough nodes for well over 100 scrips.

Crafting: (My first attempt) Chimerical Felt robe of Casting (75 scrips)
For this, I need to collect:

    4 Abalathian Mistletoe (timed)
    18 Stalk of Ramie
    4 Abalathian Spring Water
    8 Effervescent Water
    16 Flax
    2 Volcanic Rock Salt (timed)
    4 Silkworm Cocoon (timed)
    6 Rock Salt
30 Chimera Mane (There are only about 6 mobs for these, and the drop rate is LOW..)
    6 Crawler Cocoon
4 Mogpom (Not sure my fishing is high enough for this)
    8 Deepeye Tears
    6 Fleece
And, even after collecting as much HQ stuff as possible, there's no guarantee that I'll be able to reach 350 collectability at weaver level 63, so the time spent may have been wasted.

I'm nearly done with the list (3 items left, working on the Chimera Manes), and it's taken me at least 4 hours so far.
Is there a more efficient way to get crafter scrips?

If you are trying to do collectables for crafting at level 63 for scripts, my recommendation is don't. Worry abut hitting max level first then do do collectables. Use levequests for exp instead if you them available. You can do the charity (3 turn in) levequests to get the most exp per levequest. Once you hit max level, becomes a lot easier to HQ/max collectability the items.

You doing it wrong, 1st you pick the worst item to do scrips with, 2nd you pick the worse class to do scrips with.

    Gathering you are time gated

Crafting you search MB for the cheap mats usually alchemy with some carpenters and blacksmiths. You pop your macros and can potentially farm *10x* faster than gathering.

Crafter scrips are absurdly easy when you make the right things.

Alchemy and Goldsmith at lower levels will be the easiest in terms of mats, but crp bracelets are good too.

At 80, you look at alchemy and go "can I make syrup or natron?". And if the answer is no, you gather for a day and ask again tomorrow.

    1) Look for the easy recipes that dont require much materials, not the ones that give the most scrips - cul, alc, crp and gsm often have turn-ins that are easy to make and dont require much in terms of materials. I'd stay completly away from weaver!

    2) Do your weekly turn-ins for Zhloe, Naago, Kurenai and/or Adkirag - they give plenty of scrips with little investment.

    3) Dont use crafter turn-ins to level up, its completly pointless. Leves are the way to go!

    4) Wait with getting the scrips until you've got a higher level and better recipes to pick from.

Crafting collectables are just fine for leveling. It's a pretty easy way to be self sufficient in that leveling one through collectables will provide a full set or two of scrip gear, which can save you from needing to bother with some aspects of the gearing process.

Theres also times where collectable turnins are SIGNIFICANTLY better xp per materials than some leves.

I gained 3 levels in like 30 min thanks to syrup. So dang easy.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

I was trying to do the level 60 quest on my weaver (The only one over 60), but it required a book (Master Weaver III), which can only be bought with scrips. So, weaver being the only one I could do collectables with... ( finally made the thing today. and earned a whole 82 scrips for only 8 hours of work.. NOT worth it..
I'll just forget about any crafting quest that requires HQ results, or more than two materials
I've been doing most of my crafter leveling with beast tribes, but it's going to get slower when I get them all into Moogles and Namazu, where there are only 3 quests per day. Then, at 70, the easy beast tribe leveling ends, and I'll have to start making stuff for XP again.
