    Remove Dialogue Choices

This is a rant/suggestion all tossed into one. These have me so irritated with the game that I'm not even sure what to do about it anymore. I hate the fact that they give us dialogue choices that lead absolutely nowhere.

I don't remember quest names, but the one with Zenos where he jumps into the dragon and then makes an offer that we join sides, hijack some Eikon's together and go joyriding around as gods; and they give us the option to say yes...which goes the same place that option no does.

To make it worse it absolutely destroyed my immersion and made me wander off to do other things because it was just so awfully written.

"Sure dude, I'll jump in an Eikon and side with you because all this WoL stuff is pretty boring."

    Scions: Hey good guy!

With absolutely no dialogue head nod to the fact that I was ready to betray all of them not even 10 seconds prior, or any ramifications for the choice; excuse me illusion of choice. Perhaps I'm too used to games like The Witcher, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc where if the game developers give us choices/dialogue trees; they actually vary from each other and each choice has an impact and consequences to go along with them instead of being two hollow options that give the exact same dialogue line.

What is the point of giving us a choice if it makes no difference and doesn't impact the story at all? Just force me down A - B cut scenes with no choice and that would be better then being given the illusion of choice and then having those choices not matter at all and feeling like I wasted time clicking a button that doesn't even matter, and to make it worse these hollow choices are everywhere even in ShB.

Emet: Will you abandoned so and so and join me so I can have my people back?

Dialogue choice 1: No I would never betray my team. (Even though you gave us the choice too before, even though it lead nowhere.)
Dialogue choice 2: .... (Exact same lines follow if you clicked option 1)

The second choice makes no difference, why is it there? Where you...Square actually thinking about making our choices have consequences and allowing us some fraction of freedom that you guys tossed away somewhere along the line. Why is this like this?

It's just flavor. It doesn't have to meaningfully change the game.

It may not do anything in terms of story progression, but it can be great for character building - a chance to express how your character would react in that situation, even if it doesn't change the outcome.

It's also the only time we ever get to 'hear' our character actually speak instead of just pulling faces, and that's important. Sometimes it's not even about choice - there's one clear intended response and the others fall flat. (There's at least one moment I can think of where our response is a key part of the scene, and it just wouldn't play as well if all we do is smile and nod.)

Never understand why people want to remove content from a game.

They're times when you're asked questions and one of the responses is serious and one is more lighthearted. Times when you can tell someone the cold, honest truth, or try to prop up their ego a little bit and sugarcoat things. Be aggressive or level headed. Object or fall in line. It gives you a chance to define your character a little bit even if it doesn't have an effect on the outcome.
