I posted a similar thread in the Japanese forum today, so this is a mirror thread.
I really think Viera should be given access to a race-exclusive stiletto heel vanity item for their feet slot. Let me explain why.
1. Up until now, there has been no stiletto heel vanity footwear, ostensibly because it would be incompatible with the existing character animation data, and the developers specifically mentioned stiletto heels on footwear showing your ankles as a major obstacle (this is why there are a couple of stiletto heel pieces of leg armor, but not much else).
2. With Viera, though, they apparently decided it was an emblematic feature of the race, and so incorporated stiletto heels into the race exclusive gear set.
The problem is every other gear set remains notably stiletto-free – so with any other footwear, your Viera suddenly stops looking like a Viera. For Viera, stiletto heels are not just any little detail: they’re part of the race’s identity. I’m not sure there’s a single Viera in FFXII that is not wearing stiletto heels (I could be wrong on this, though).
The problem with the stiletto heels on the race exclusive gear set, however, is that they come with Fran’s shin coverings attached.
This doesn’t mesh well with most gear, though, which severely restricts your glamour options.
If the Viera had to a dyeable stiletto heel item, even if it’s just one, it would dramatically increase what you can do with your other glamour. Something simple, like this.

This should cause no issues with the animation data, as it’s already supported for the Viera’s default costume.
Now, the notion of a race-exclusive glamour item is probably troubling to a lot people, precisely because we’ve been begging, to no avail, for Yoshi-P to lift restrictions on glamoured gear: be it restrictions based on race, gender or job. However, I feel it’s appropriate in this case, since it’s an important part of the race’s identity that’s being eliminated to accommodate all other races. Also, with Viera having so few options in terms of hairstyles and headgear, it seems only fitting they get a little extra love in this regard (I’m all for the same applying to the Hrorthgar).
I would be grateful if anyone who agrees were to support this thread.
Thank you.
