World Visit is making Hunts unplayable.

I don't know where to post this, so I'll post this in General.

On Aether, players have elected to do giant train hunts across the data center, and get furious at anyone who dares do hunts outside of their system, relying on bullying in linkshells or outside of the game in discord servers. It was cute at first, but now there are so many people on the train that you can barely see the hunt monster unless you're right next to it, and even if you're in a full party, it seems sometimes getting full credit is not an option.

I got told by one player in tells that if I want to be able to do hunts in Final Fantasy XIV, I should buy a RTX 2070 like he did, a 500 dollars graphics card. If you play on PS4, you need not apply.

Some fixes were rolled out to ensure you could still see your party members in Eureka, but there are so many people on these hunt trains that it makes the game, frankly, very difficult to play.

Goblin is doing this as well around 10pm each night. At least 300+ (but im all for it, on goblin at least)

Only difference is everyone here has absolutely ZERO interest in hunts outside of the hunt train window, so if one is killed outside the train rotation no one is complaining at all. (Like seriously all 300 ppl just joke around about it saying weve been rick rolled on the flag call, and just goto the next one)

Then again goblin is overly filled with polite players compared to my old servers so who knows.

As for the GPU, I have a 2080 Ti but Im not going to go rub that around in someones face like that person did, thats pretty rude considering he picked a budget option. I dont do that and I got the top version =/
That said that guy is a complete idiot, the mob disappears still on my 2080 ti, meaning it definitely vanishes for him too, therefor its not fps related so you can tell that guy to goto hell. Not cpu related either, Im on an i9 9900k at 5ghz. So you dont need to get a 2070 “like him” dont worry, cuz it wont help

Visual priority was patched in for S ranks and special fate mobs but they never needed to change it for A ranks, so that may change soon. I wouldnt worry too much because SE has changed visual priority when needed before. If it continues Im sure they will for As as well.

I lose target and sight of it even as a melee sometimes even, if im mch or healing im forced into aoe range just to cast at it. So time will tell if trains like this keeps going and if so a patch should be no problem


Unfortunately the one thing you can control is the credit, unfortunate because you will indeed need to join a hunt pf to get full cred as this continues for now. Solo is pretty much off the table.

The bigger problem I'm seeing is off-worlders invading other servers and picking off their ARR S ranks with regularity.

At this point they're treating them the same way as the ARR A ranks.

You don't find it fun that the hunt mob sometimes just does the disappearing and reappearing act? xd

Twice I died today, flew past an s rank looking for my Nut mark and it killed me mid flight. Annoyingly I only seen 3 people below and just thought they were standing around or killing some random monsters. Was only once I died the 200 other people started appearing and vanishing

I never did see the monster that killed me.

Same thing again later but I was told that was a special fate monster that second time. Didn’t see fate, monster or people but agin just suddenly died mid flight and got ported to the eastern aetheryte in Kholusia. Invisible people, invisible monsters, invisible fates...why bother lol

I've got a PS4 Pro with an SSD so all I can really do is laugh at his suggestion with my 5 second load times.

atleast on europe, without those trains noone would even consider a ranks because they are tuned way to high

killing one with 20 or 30 people takes ages, some of them even wipe everything a few times and remain unkillable unless 50+ people zerg them

and if you want max credit, just go tank and spam enmity generating skills in tank stance or tell the tanks in your party to do so :shrug:
