It's very simple -- stop using careful synthesis. That's a high-risk command. You're much more likely to fail careful synthesis with recipes at your current level than recipes 20 levels lower than you. Also, if you're level 20, picking up a level 20 leve, you must be getting a few hundred xp per synth even by spamming standard. How is that horrible xp?

Don't neglect rapid! while it is risky as can be sometimes a successful rapid synth takes away zero durability. a failed one will cost you 15-25 usually though.... but i use it with perfection to finish off synths when i synth for HQ. that isn't an ability he has yet, but the effectiveness of rapid synth when it succeeds is unquestionable.

By the way, if there were no RNG - then crafting would be the exact same 8 key presses every time. If all the options gave you the exact same result each time with no variation, you could just calculate that 3 standards + 1 rapid + 4 carefuls creates the Optimum Quality with 1 durability remaining.

    That's fine.

I would rather work towards a guaranteed goal such as gear up correctly, get buffed correctly, use the correct commands and abilities at the correct time = WIN!!

As it stands right now, I have to do all of that and then the game can STILL decide TOO BAD YOU LOOSE ANYWAY!!!

That is the MOST annoying and frustrating thing ever to have done all of that work for nothing...feels like a complete waste of my time each time I fail from RNG because I have NO WAY AT ALL to control it...

If it is going to be RNG, just let me push a button and that's it...no having to gear up correctly, buff up correctly, and figure out which button/abilities I need to push and when to push them...one button gambling for RNG or work for something that is guaranteed, one or the other!

If you don't think its worth your effort then you could consider giving up on crafting, implementation of a simplistic and base system like that would enrage a lot of crafters (the majority i think) by taking out all the interesting nuances involved in it.

I don't want to work for stuff and the game's RNG still decide I don't get stuff after I worked for it.

I want to work for stuff that I KNOW I will get if I work for it correctly.

    Reading comprehension FTW.

And no, I already said RNG crafting is NOT worth the time investment - what is entertaining or rewarding about HOPING all of my time and effort results in something?

It's not - that would be why I don't play gambling games.

Crafting in FFXIV is nothing but a huge time sink with a roll of the dice at the end.

Might as well go to a casino instead of craft in FFXIV - same game, but at least when I get lucky in a casino, I get real money.

If you know its going to work then where is the effort? holy crap you went to the market wards to buy gear and food so it should be easy mode! i guess i should work on my comprehension.... cuz what you said is totally what you said but i only took it as what you said and paraphrased it to what you said. lol

I find crafting to be blissfully easy now, so I would love to see the chat log of what the OP is doing and the gear he's wearing.

Allow me to apologize, my personal distaste for people posting that they fail at crafting so the system sucks or the system is broken has clouded my posts.

Eliminating the RNG (for the miniscule difference it makes to an even slightly practiced crafter) just to make synths a sure thing would turn what is a semi-involved process into mindless junk like other games have. In those, you could be 90 levels above something and still have breaks due to RNG, and those breaks you had no control over. In FFXIV if you break something you brought it on yourself by aiming to high or trying to push up quality too far and so on. This new system, while still repetitive, works wonderfully and is unique with a promise of improved abilities and so on in the future. I'm hoping i speak for a great number of people when i say that the crafting in this is wonderful as its getting better now.

Again, sorry for letting my personal distaste for these threads cloud my responses.
