I was going to say..
I've seen nothing showing that NIN is behind any tank.
I think NIN does need a buff, but I honestly don't think NIN is 30% behind the other melee DPS.
If stats are right from what I am seeing, they are below all DPS in certain raids except Dancer(which is lowest). They are more akin to being 27'ish% behind the next melee, so pretty close to 30%. But again, none below tanks except those few flukes.
but still,30% behind other melee is still wayy too much.so he is still right saying NIN is weak
If you look at fflogs no one is thinking.
Also as someone who used to orange or purple on dps as a nin pre 5.0 I can tell you 100% without a doubt NIN is the worst dps after 5.0 and it breaks my heart.
Dancer being the only one lower really doesnt count as their buffs grants 2k dps or so to any other role as long as they are performing the role right. If you give dancer credit where it is owed, simply add 2k dps to any dancer dps log and thats dancers real dps, meaning they arent really on bottom, more mid range, making ninja absolutely dirt.
Gunbreaker as an OT can honestly come close to a nin dps which is ridiculous lol (note my main job on the left, its not like I want to bash my favorite job here) Someone mentioned that on page 1, but I noticed this myself on my own gnb 80. Its nice to tank but still dps pretty dang good.
The best nin without dancer buffs is not gonna break 10k over a 5 minute scale. Meanwhile my MCH is doing 11k dps average without dancer partner buffs, and at openers spikes from 25-35k dps.
I feel like Im betraying my main role here but if i join a titania or salvage group and see a nin, I drop party. For now Ill be a mch and wait for SE
Nin isnt 30% behind all dps but it is 30% behind a blm specifically. Its enough to cause dps check fails if two or three dps are ninjas, without a doubt.
In any case though if mch a ranged role can out dps a ninja, and you exclude mechanics completely, so lets just say a mch out dps’s a ninja by alot on just a training dummy, thats a serious problem. Ninja should do more dps if both can stay dps’ing full time

He is technically right, ninja is pathetic right now. I mean really pathetic.
But it is not behind tanks, just sorta behind every other dps besides dnc... problem is dnc is not far from nin and has a ton more party buffs and utility so yea. Rip Ninjas.
I guess thats why he moved to mixer.
If you are comparing dps to a tanks in the dungeons then the difference is not big enough, but single target there is no way a DRK or WAR will be able to even match any dps job numbers.

Ninja will get some love in the next patch.
Honestly I don't want to see TA nerfed into oblivion and NIN becoming a clone of every other DPS. I'd gladly prefer to see its DPS remain low and more utilities to rDPS, both offensive and defensive. We might lose the only job that still has a personal identity.
It's certainly in need of some tender loving care, it's painful to raid with right now. The trick attacks aren't worth taking one into savage when you can take another melee.
Not totally related, but I'm also surprised NIN wasn't reworked to be like DNC, where the ability was pressed and then a third gauge shows you what to press to execute it. You know, so you didn't have to remember everything or be punished for messing up? It's time to do away with the bunnies.
/thread 10 char
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
