Isn't past time to upgrade the NA server infrastructure?

EU had multiple new world's added while NA just got split into 3 data centers. Isn't time that NA had a couple new servers added to each data center and the infrastructure upgraded?

The game has seen a surge in popularity with Shadowbringers and more and more players are logging in each day to play. This is great! However, the server infrastructure is suffering for it with small queues each day at every hour. I don't know if updating the server infrastructure would solve all of it, but I think it would help better divide players into brand new worlds instead of just hte current ones.

We have a bunch of low pop worlds already, no need for new worlds that would be desolate in a month.

I get a queue every day, but it takes less than 3 mins to get in. I don’t see a problem

Potentially the NA centres could benefit from some new worlds eventually, but for now the populations on them are very dispoportionate. Incentives are there to get to people to move but if they don't then new worlds will be pretty desolate, so that won't solve much at all. EU centres on the otherhand were literally bursting and needed the extra capacity to keep up with demand.

We're WAAAAAY behind schedule for that based on how they've handled the JP servers the last couple years.

It -should- have come with the datacenter split, to at least 10-11 worlds per cluster and locking them to transfers at ~8k until non-congested worlds fill up (similar to how JP is set up), but didnt.

The problem is that the queues are fake. There's always "20 people" in the queue every time I get on. It's a lie, it's artificial, and they need to turn it off. Save the queue system for real queues instead of trying to make things seem more packed.

They spent half of Stormblood doing backend tomfoolery. This is the upgrade.

When they discover the magical server fairy wand, I'm sure they'll implement it as soon as possible.

This will happen the day after legacy spaghetti is removetti.

This certainly seems true.... I can attempt to log on at 2am Pacific time and get 18 people in queue.... I can attempt to log in at 5pm Pacific Time and get 32 people in queue.

There's always a queue to log on. Though I'm starting to think there's something changed about how it logs characters in. Best I can describe is it's like a bus that comes to pick up characters waiting to log into the game, and that bus only comes to get players once a minute, then it grabs everyone and logs them all in at once. It's possible that this is easier on the server than having players popping into the game literally any time?

This is the smoothest launch of any expansion by far. The queues are clearly part of whatever they did to fix it. I'll take a 30 second queue every time I log in over the usual 1000+ queues that I was expecting for the first couple of months any day.

please god just please give us an east coast data center
