The classes currently are well balanced....however from what i seen many abilities and spells were taken away from classes and were dumbed down to give them NEW abilities that fitted them better to force them to work.

Seems to me that the job system was tacked on with dumbed down versions of each class and the fact that they made jobs simpler in scope ultimately just tells me that warrior should be the class that we are playing and the job should be Marauder for specialization. The system is fundamentally flawed because of the lack charisma and character of each class(aka lancer/marauder...sounds like we are generic enemy npcs =/) and only classic final fantasy jobs filled in that need players wanted from the start.

The current system is pretty awesome in my opinion to be able to attach more roles/jobs to your base class.. the system itself has potential but the same cannot be said of the current classes. For example you can have red mage as a base class and sorcerer(sword mage) and time mage(enfeeble/support) be its advanced jobs you can tack on.Allowing both jobs to use red mages base abilities with each job, and allowing red mage to take abilities from other base jobs for solo play or equip one of the more advanced jobs for more specializations with advanced jobs for group play.

In other words... the current system works its just that people aren't satisfied with the CHARACTERIZATION of the current base classes....gladiator feels like a ADVANCED job not a base job. What could you really add to gladiator besides paladin that fits. Its also the armory system that disallows more specialized and unique classes like samurai from existing since they cannot use Katana/Bow/Polearm to add to it's versatility like seen in FFXI...it could only ever have the sword and it will never be a base class...only a job to attach on....and what class could really serve as a base for samurai? If samurai is used as a base class itself what job could you attach to it?

Armory system and the Character of the classes is what people are ultimately crying about..they are not the vague and base verastile(warrior/red mage) jobs of final fantasy lore.I don't see gladiator/pugilist/lancer getting any more unique jobs that make sense all the while keeping the same weapons and for the most part same type of base gameplay as the class while offering something unique that could be considered a vastly different role that compliments base classes like pugilist/gladiator/lancer.
