I like having both, the armoury and the job system. Please keep them in the game and properly balanced.

simple one word response in answer...... no

Like others, I like having the option of having the 10 traits available that classes provide. I wouldn't be surprised to see mixed groups working ended game content eventually (there are certainly advantages to having a few generic DDs in any group for example). I'm sure as content is further explored we'll see an emerging use for both in the game.
Besides, any changes now would involve me creating new macros, and well, that's just not acceptable. =D
If they would get rid of classes, we wouldn't have to argue over how classes are still useful
Get rid of classes and just have jobs...having both is redundant.
SE needs to bring it old school just like all these veterans like it.
WAR/MNK/PLD/BLM/WHM/BRD/DRG
done deal...then just add more jobs in the future
Oh and add sub jobs so we can choose which additional abilities we want!
FFXI-2 {Can I have it?}

"Online gamers are the most ludicrously entitled beings since Caligula made his horse a senator and at least the horse never said anything stupid."

your all saying that classes are useful because thats what we have now and the points brought up as to why there useful is valid, but theres no reason jobs cant be improved to better represent how classes are. if they get rid of classes they could make jobs more flexible by adding a new system, like be able to equip 5 abilities from any job or something simple like that.
on another note i would like to say once and for all that i hate everyone who says "if you dont like it you dont have to use it" there is no game design behind giving the player every single thing they could want without structure based on that logic.
like lets give people an auto level up quest thats repeatable as much as you want. and i gurantee there will be people saying if you dont like it you dont have to use it. just kuz its there doesnt mean its good for the game
though classes isnt bad and im good either way, i just think jobs can replace classes with alittle more work
While I think that Jobs can and will eventually replace classes the solution isn't to make them flexible like classes currently are. Otherwise what is the point of having the jobs in the first place?
Jobs need to be unique from one another, Not everyone needs to cast stoneskin or Sentinel...nor should it be encouraged to have everyone devolve into a "jack of all trades" class.
Thats my opinion at least.

Didn't people complained in the beginning that classes weren't unique enough? Now that we have jobs, everyone wants to be everything. While I think that Jobs can and will eventually replace classes the solution isn't to make them flexible like classes currently are. Otherwise what is the point of having the jobs in the first place?

Seems that SE just can't win this one.
I think it's more a matter of people only being vocal about something when it's threatening their current game.
People who were content with classes didn't really participate in the discussion about them, people in favor of the current job system wont be chatting alot about it but those who care about classes will be sure they are heard.

I'm agreeing with Jynx... is this bizarro world?I think it's more a matter of people only being vocal about something when it's threatening their current game.

That said, I'm for keeping jobs and classes and having MORE jobs unlocked from the existing classes and the jobs being quite literally nothing more than specializations for each class.
