    Question On leveling a Maruader

I know I will probably get some sarcastic comments for this question, but please understand I want to play a marauder without tanking dungeons, etc. Is there a way to do this in the game or do I have to accept the fact the only way to level a marauder is to "tank"? I have tried tanking in dungeons and it was a horrible experience for everyone n the party.

You can level through Palace of the Dead \ Heaven on High plus fates if you are just interested in the story. You will not be expected to really tank in those instances as everybody does their own thing a lot of the time.

While the above is true, marauder (And later on warrior) is a tank class. If you want to queue up for anything bar palace of the dead, you're expected to tank. If that's not your thing, maybe go for a DPS job instead.

You can do more oriented solo things like you were a melee dps without positionnals, and level fine. Fates, battlecraft leves, tribal quests, etc. My tanks have become 70 like that since i didn't 100% like their gameplay at the time and was not interested that much in tanking in a group as well (it did change though with the new DRK that i like way more than the old one). But be warned that it will be way slower than chaining dungeons in a group that will indeed expect you to tank.

And once 71 if you still suffer from "tanxiety" you can use the trust system to try to get more used to group tanking, without the fear of anybody blaming you for your mistakes. Even though it will of course still not be the same if you join a normal group after that (for example when you see how trusts partners are dpsing i dont mass pull with them, but once with normal players most of them will expect you to do that).

My suggestion would be to not let a poor previous experience disallow you to continue to try to improve your tanking skills.
While there’s many options available to earn exp and level up, the true feel to any tank class is, well, tanking.

This! Just practice a bit and give it another go. I'm not very familiar with Marauder/Warrior, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but for low level Marauder tanking, you should make sure you always have your Defiance (tank stance) buff up for enmity. When you're approaching a group of enemies, hit one of them with Tomahawk (ranged attack), then as you meet the group spam Overpower (AoE cone attack) to ensure enmity on the whole group. Use Berserk whenever it's up to increase your damage. Always face the enemies away from your party members and try to keep them as close and still and possible (while of course evading enemy moves). Rampart is your only damage mitigation cooldown at low level, so use that whenever it's up and you have multiple enemies to lower the damage you're taking a bit.

Don't stress about it too much. Let your party know that you're completely new to tanking and still learning and they should be very understanding for any mistakes you might make.
