Ok so I jumped worlds to join The Apocalypse literally the day after posting in the forums to get in touch, and decided that this is definitely where I want to call 'home' in FFXIV. I'll give 5 quick reasons off the top of my head, to help encourage anyone who is also looking to go ahead and apply / contact the guild representatives:

1. This FC is super active and has lots of events. There are also always people around to chat with, level up with, or get help with things that need to get done.

2. The comradery of the FC. Everyone gets along well, is super nice, and works together to help eachother out or just do things together for fun.

3. Neoma... (inside joke where I was listing what I like about the FC in our FC chat and Neo decided to join the list)

4. The Discord is awesome! Sub-reasons:
- There is events signup polls where FC group activities are organized on a weekly basis
- The IRL support that everyone provides eachother. There is a casual area where people have a forum to share their IRL concerns, struggles, or hardships, and there is always someone there to offer support.. along with pictures of food and cute animals

5. Of the group activities I have done, its been the most fun I've had with other people since joining FFXIV! (Shout out to Lilith, Lian, Seigfreid, and Rudi)
