Well go back and play WoW I love playing this "joke". I hate people thinking FFXIV needs to be like every other MMORPG. This is Final Fantasy. Get it, darn!!

Oh playing Chuck Norris in WoW with 1997 graphics makes me so horny, I couldnt laugh when I see it - its too sad to be a joke.

While I will sometimes say this as a joke, it really isn't a valid response. A lot of people play this game because they love Final Fantasy. They want to support the game and they'd like to see it succeed. They would like to see it become more respectable and for it to be as enjoyable as possible. It's because they love the brand and the game that they stick around, and it's their support that contributes to keeping the game going.

Also, the game doesn't have to be exactly like other MMOs in order to provide us with fun and variety. However, in order to make money, yes, it will need to become more like WoW in certain ways. It's pretty much unavoidable, and I bet my bottom dollar that is what will end up happening with a lot of the game's systems.

e.g. we will have content finder, bags for inventory, various mounts, more quests and other leveling options, streamlined crafting, an even more WoW inspired UI (the current one is similar to WoW as it is); we have rested exp bonuses already, instanced raids, and even a "cataclysm" on its way

The game is already like WoW to some extent, and it will only become more like it as 2.0 approaches.

If they really do, they would ask for more story, atmosphere or Final Fantasy content to make the game feel more like Final Fantasy and they would less ask for more action and e-dick stuff. Just my opinion. There are better ways to support the devs than saying it is still a joke. I really enjoy the game and I cant say there is no challenge in it.

Seriously: why should someone who loves Final Fantasy compare FF to WoW? There is no reason for me to do that. The devs did many changes to the BS and its playable and makes a lot of fun. I want to play FF with commands as it ever was and not hack and slay? oO

Who says they aren't asking for those things, too? But those things will not keep the game going or pull in new players, that's what I'm trying to explain to you. It is possible for FFXIV to remain very much a FF game, while still implementing more modern MMO features.

Right. I have left friends that i met 7-8 on XI (then wow) years ago for keep playing this game.. You can't simply say go back and play WoW ... I have high expectation for 2.0 ... And i hope that it will really succeed... But for this we need modern mechanics... So i'm sorry but i can say 100 times, atm the whole game feels "old" and i know that some niche players like it even in the realease status >.> ... But a game can't stay alive with 10,20,30k players... So they need to make something of completely new, offcourse i don't want a wow clone (i never said this), but some of his mechanics are a standard.. So we need them.

You sure can. I see post after post of people claiming that "X" situations needs to be more like "Y" situation in FFXI or WoW, including youself. Unless you stop that behavior yourself, as well as forcing others to stop it, then you don't even have the right to tell others they shouldn't tell you to go back to it.
