That's true Jinko but the problem is you can just throw 6 archers @ it which is dumb. They need to make close range DD do hell of a lot more dmg or make more traps from ppl who like to sit back and fiddle their thumbs.
That's a problem with the way the game is, not the content.
In most MMO's you pick one class and you stick with it, or you make a new character and level a new class, so in those situations you either go on your main class or you switch to a alt character.
In FF11 people used to throw BLM's and SMN's at bosses all the time, FF14 is worse because you can change whenever.
I am huge fan of being able to change job between battles but I can't see them fixing this issue with stacking classes/jobs any time soon if ever, because players will always abuse the easiest strategy.
Like I said in a previous thread the only way to do this is if people stack too many of one class to remove "strength in numbers" or something.
Normally I'm not really in favour of penalising players, but I think its the only way you will get people to stop class stacking... even then they may still do it if the advantage of class stacking out weights the loss of the buff.

This is the problem with "good players", they want the quickest and most efficient way to kill shit because it would be "annoying" (note: actually a challenge) to fight it any other way.
As for the subject, I'm just reading the title. "Is this Fun in 2012?" Fun is subjective. It's not a gray area, it's black and white, you either find it fun or you don't, there's no standard to subjectivity.
Well the close range melee can do all the damage in the world, it doesn't matter if they're dead. Dead players don't win boss fights. They need to stop making combat so hazardous to non tanking melees or start making it a hell of a lot more dangerous for ranged. It's the content, not the classes themselves, that is the problem here imo. There's just as many ways to make a fight equally lethal for ranged classes, but SE just doesn't seem to have had that epiphany yet.

Coincounter can be lethal to ranged if they don't watch what they are doing. (people stack ranged in that fight because melee just seem to be slow when it comes to running out of danger)
That's not the prob the prob is WHM/CNJ's cant even bother to heal melee if they take dmg. with pld you do not need 2 whm/cnj to heal a tank pld can heal for 1k hp its self almost. The thing with ppl using all archers/blm cause they can't heal more than one person cause most whm's fail. Jinko is one the best whm's i played with he heals everyone and does not die for it. only morons would throw 6 archers at Misser or Chimera. MNKS DO 4xs the dmg and can still not take any dmg. if they are they are either stupid/skill-less or the tank just plain sucks and cant hold hate/position well. On the otherhand the TIMED CHESTs need to go its not good for Linkshell relations lol.
