Thank you both for the responses. I'm still having no luck today, so I'll have to try switching my setup to wired and see if that helps.
Is this normal for new players? Would reinstalling the game do anything?

Tons of people go through this and they say it's on our end.
Reinstalling won't help and I just did last night.
Was running fine all day until I entered a duty. Couldn't even get passed the first boss in Dohn Mehg. I gave up and ended the sub as I have been dealing with this off and on for three weeks now and nothing works to fix it.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
I apologize for the delay in our response.
Has the error changed since you posted this? Does a wired connection resolve the issue?
There isn't much you can adjust on a PS4 to troubleshoot the problem, but you can double-check that your router has been reset by turning it off then back on after a few minutes. Also check that the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that they have been opened:
▼TCP
54992 through 54994,
55006 through 55007,
55021 through 55040
Your ISP can open these ports for you.
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
Thank you for the suggestions. I was able to get the game working for a couple hours a few days ago in the early AM hours. I even had the opportunity to log off on my own after playing a few quests! Unfortunately, ever since then, the problem has persisted twofold. I'm able to play for about a minute before being disconnected with 2002 or 90002 errors, if I'm even able to make the connection work in the first place.
I did try setting up a wired connection, but it does not work. I will call my ISP tomorrow and have them check the port ranges you recommended. I will update the thread once I test things out. Thanks again.
I called my ISP and enabled the ports you listed. It is still disconnecting me. The only difference is I sometimes get disconnected with a 90001 error as well as 90002 and 2002 lobby errors.
This is very frustrating.
Thank you for the reply Excalibur1027. I apologize for the delay in our response.
Since you are on PS4, the troubleshooting we offer will mostly involve your router. If the troubleshooting you've tried does not resolve the issue, then it might stem from outside of your home network. You are likely running into an issue along your way to the server. This can be caused by network congestion or some other routing issue. In this case, I'd suggest contacting your ISP and making a report with them.
Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
