    Suggestions for another AST MP skill.

    Surprise! Not a cry out about the card system lol.

    1. Make CO have the MP regen. - I like this the most but it has a lot going for it.
    2. Make CU have the MP regen. - Or buff the damned skill.
    3. Delete Undraw and give a new skill + MP regen. - Because does anyone really use this skill? It's not even in my skill bar.
    4. Return Ewer - Still a salty AST main.

    Reasoning.
    WHM has Lucid, Thin Air and Assize
    SCH has Lucid, Aether and Energy Drain.
    AST has only Lucid.

    What does everyone else think?

    Edit: I forgot AST has Lightspeed and WHM Thin Air (I was thinking of a instant/regen spell) as others mentioned, but
    that still leaves us hanging without a third of some sort.

    What if Collective Unconscious granted the user an MP Regen effect while being channeled? Currently there’s very little incentive to channel it for the full duration, so it would be cool to have a reason to do so. That said, it would also mean dropping damage output for 15 seconds, which is around 5 full GCDs, and since it already has quite low damage, I don’t imagine anyone besides myself would think it’s a cool idea lol

    Also as an addendum, I think SE sees healer MP as balanced currently because Astrologian has Lightspeed’s MP reduction effect. Naturally this doesn’t work in practice as well as Assize or Aetherflow/Energy Drain, but this is where the devs reasoning was with not giving Astrologian anything else for MP management

    Perhaps add self MP recovery to Divination. It'll reward the AST for getting full sets of seals and with the recent reduction in the cooldown, should be getting used more often.

    I think they intended for ast's lower cost on some spells to make up for this, but it doesn't really help much. What they really need is a lower mp cost on malefic, if not just giving them another mp management skill as you suggested.

    For some reason, I like the idea of just throwing more onto Celestial Opposition. Just make it deal some damage, inflict slow upon enemies, grant MP regen for the AST, increase beneficial effects by 5 seconds for every enemy hit, receive gil, grant an increase to limit meter, refill your drinks, pet the dog...

    With seriousness: perhaps a small amount of MP restored upon card draw that increases proportionally to how much MP one has.

    It could be problematic to have MP regen tied to an existing ability, because then you'd never know when to use it. Like, if divination is ready but I'm at full MP, do I save it for later? Then I'd be losing DPS by not keeping divination on cooldown. Or do I press it? Then I'm wasting the MP regen, which I might need later.

    The other healers don't have to deal with this. Scholar actually did in 5.0, because you could be capped on aetherflow, but now energy drain lets you dump the excess stacks.

    As for assize, the only time its regen even matters is when you're doing a lot of AoE healing (in which case you'd use it anyway for the heal) or in a really massive trash pull (in which case you'd use it anyway for the damage).

    Celestial opposition and collective unconscious could work, though. I just think, if we're going to add MP regen to an existing spell, it should be something like an AoE heal that you'd use at times of high MP consumption, and not something like a DPS cooldown that you'd use on the pull.

    Which isn't really a good rationale when you consider that the other healers have their own spells corresponding to lightspeed, and thin air at least provides more of an MP cost reduction (12/120s × 100% = 10%, versus lightspeed's 15/90s × 50% = 8.33%).

    Honestly, if astrologian didn't have the cards I'd say it was fine for it to have more challenging mana management than the other two. Scholar has two other resources to deal with, and white mage is kind of intended as the worry-free healer. But since it does have the card minigame, well.

    Agree with this. AST only have 1 tool to manage their mp outside lucid dreaming while WHM and SCH have 2 tools:
    WHM: Assize and Thin Air
    SCH: Aetherflow and ED
    AST: only Light Speed =.=

    Just give us 5% mp restore when execute draw should be enough.

    I would actually love this. I'm all for things that reward players for playing well, even if it's just lining up 3 different symbols on our slot machine.
