This. Orbonne can easily take twice as long as LotA. That would be fine if it gave twice as much exp or twice as many tomes, but it doesn't. What's the incentive to risk a 45 minute Orbonne or Dun Scaith when you could do a 20 minute CT for the same reward?Nope. MSQ Roulette rewards you for the time investement. Lots of tomestomes + insane XP for the amount of time invested. Meanwhile alliance roulette does not reward you for spending twice the amount of time in Orbonne compared to LotA (or more if your party is bad). The easy way to fix this "problem" is to increase the rewards for the higher lvl raids. It has nothing to do with people being "afraid of a challenge". It's people going for the best reward per time invested ratio. If you enjoy spending more time for the same reward, more power to you. But that's not what the average player is going for especially in a game where you have to pay to play.

Sounds like the best idea is to remove the reward for both. Makes them equal. Means the only players who want to do the content, are doing the content.
No more cheesing the roulette, no more arguing about xp spent. No more chances of getting stuck in content you don't want to do. Its a win-win solution. Remove Alliance and MSQ roulette. Newbies that get stuck on those respective questlines can use PF and get friends, or FCs to help. Or buy the runs. I mean I'm not in a FC and I get about a dozen invites a day. Newbies likely get the same thing. They can make having the FC run them through these dungeons as condition to joining them. I mean judging by the volume of invites I get, they need people enough to warrant doing that.
But yeah, that solves every issue brought up:
No ilvl scaling shenanigans.
No Orbonne Monastery 45+ minute runs.
No Freeloaders pitching for LotA.
No Waiting in cutscenes
No Dragging newbies through packs of mobs.
While the only downside is newbies have to make friends to progress in a few quests. I don't see the bad part about that.
Roulette has to go. Lets make it happen.

And more FC dramas as result
Joke apart, you are wrong : a little FC will never be able to solve the queue problem for Alliance clear, the PF neither. That's why they added the alliance roulette, even with a CT linkshell it was rather hard to clear the content until they make CT usefull for relic light.
If you don't want to play the game's content, then yeah, don't unlock any of it.
This goes for Trials, Raids, and even MSQ.
This is ridiculous. if you don't like the roulettes, don't run them, you are not forced to.
You don't solve the issue a piece of content has by removing the content.

Welcome to the FFXIV community. We remove content because we don't want you running it. So we're going to ask to take it away from you.
