In the long run this matters why? If your queueing for roulette your only there for the tomes anyways it’s not like they are great XP.

The past 2 weeks I did alliance roulette almost every day and I've had one of the three lvl 70 runs almost every time.
With instant queue time.
Edit: Most of these runs where also almost instant kills too, only 2 times there was a wipe.
I'd take the lvl 70 alliance runs any day over doing Dun Scaith with new players.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Which would I rather do?
A 15 min LOTA/ST/ 20 min WoD
or
A 45min Orbonne Monastary where people can't get past Cid.
Tough Choice.
Everyone is looking to maximize their gains for time invested. It's human nature.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Yes please SE do something. Myself and other FC mates are sick of the first two lvls of the Crystal tower raid. I only ever managed to get the Ivalice raid 1 time, literally 1 out of the countless times I queued for Alliance. And even that was only because it was a duty in progress. I for one would be more then happy to do raids that actually ask me to be awake and pay attention. Also have heard complaints from FC mates about how the HW/SB raids seem dead with hour long queues. And how can that be when Alliance roulette is always so full?

I mean, there is a very simple way they can fix this. Upon reaching the level cap for the expansion reach 24 man released in, lock Alliance Roulette unless your ilvl meets the minimum requirement for the third installment. For example sake, you have access to the roulette from 50-59 provided you have unlocked Crystal Tower and completed all three. However, once you reach 60, you lose access to the Alliance Roulette until you reach ilvl 235 and complete all three City of Mhach raids. This happens again upon going from 69 to 70.
And before anyone comments they can't do this. Expert Roulette already does. You currently have to be i410 and have all three dungeons unlocked or you can't queue. So they could very easily do it with Alliance, and just may if this continues because it makes queue times for the older raids extremely long.
It's completely unsurprising that people are defending the practice of removing gear to get labyrinth. lazy community btw.
SE just need to either nuke the exp rewards for lower level alliance raids, or put an ilvl req on the roulette. i120 at 50, i235 at 60 and i305 at 70. No, I don't care if "you don't wanna spend 40 mins" in the roulette, don't queue up in that case.
I don't get why people afking in PVP was such a huge problem in SB that the exp rewards had to be drastically lowered unless you won, but they allow people to literally afk and get tonnes of exp in alliance raids and MSQ roulette.
Hi, I do alliance roulette for the xp and couldn't care less about the tomes. It gives me more xp than a level appropriate dungeon and because I only get LotA/Syrcus, it's usually also faster than said dungeon. In the long run this matters why? If your queueing for roulette your only there for the tomes anyways it’s not like they are great XP.
Sounds to me like you're complaining about a totally different problem than what's being brought up by this thread.I don't get why people afking in PVP was such a huge problem in SB that the exp rewards had to be drastically lowered unless you won, but they allow people to literally afk and get tonnes of exp in alliance raids and MSQ roulette.
The reason expert roulette does it is because the roulette requires that you have access to all the duties on it in order to be able to queue. Mentor roulette (and MSQ, but that doesn't really count because it only actually has two duties on it) are the only other roulettes that behave this way. All the others simply require you to be eligible for at least two dungeons on it. This is why leveling roulette requires level 16, because that is the minimum level at which you are eligible for Sastasha and Deepcroft. And before anyone comments they can't do this. Which I am aware of. It merely shows they could lock Alliance Roulette the same way if they wanted to—especially if more and more people abuse this loophole. The whole purpose of the roulette is for people trying to complete those raids to not sit in queues for hours on end. If Orbonne gets to the point where you're waiting like you did for Crystal Tower before Alliance Roulette happened, they'll do something to incentivize it, or outright prevent the loophole. The reason expert roulette does it is because the roulette requires that you have access to all the duties on it in order to be able to queue. "Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
The reason that they don't is because Expert roulette is not done for exp. It can only be done at level cap. They want to keep these other roulettes available as exp options for people below the level cap.Which I am aware of. As for Orbonne incentives, one thing they could have done is give us a weekly quest for i400 accessories like they did with Dun Scaith for i270 ones, which they strangely left out to my great surprise. Probably too late now for anyone to really care, though. I feel like they can't be terribly interested in incentivizing this duty or else they would have done it.
