i know for a fact several friends i know remove gear so that they can avoid higher level 24 mans. they just dont want to deal with the badness of randoms unless it's faceroll LOTA/ST.

24 people in the queue.
If one of them, just one is level 50-59. You're getting a 50 raid. And guess what? If I'm in the raid, its probably me. As I don't do Alliance Raid unless I'm leveling a character.
If they think that will protect them, they're sadly mistaken. I saw at least one wipe in every boss in LOTA last week, and saw wipes against Scylla and Amon in ST two weeks ago. Nothing can protect you.
You guys do know that the bonus exp is increase with the greater level difference between your current level and the raid you get.
So, why not do this? I mean, you get into an easier raid. You finish quicker. And you would get more exp. That is a triple win.
Only downside... You do the same one each day. Oh well. It is over so quickly anyway, who cares.

The one time in the past few days I forgot to lower my ilvl, I got Orbonne. It sucked and went on for 45 minutes before people abandoned it at Thunder God because one party simply couldn't stay alive and kept dumping their mechs on everyone else.
I'm okay with having an out, personally.
I cheese my ilvl to avoid Orbonne, so shoot me. I'm not prepared to go in and literally carry people through a 15 minute Mustadio, wipe to Agrias at least once, and then vote abandon after 2 Thunder God wipes because people can't or won't communicate and do the mechanics. I have better things to do than waste my time.
Want to know my clear rate of Orbonne since 5.0 dropped? 0%. It's like people have completely forgotten how to do the bare minimum.
The bonus exp isn't greater then the base exp you get for doing content closer to your level. Also while the max hp passive Regen debate is going, I usually do fates or gathers while waiting and I see it happening to myself on occasion so its not a guarantee that they are ilvl cheesing.
Ok so..I see this as ANNOYing. But I don't see it as a "Problem"
Who would get mad at a quick and easy clear with good EXP, + Bonus on Adventure in Need?
I get happy when I get Tower or Ancients, because that means it will be quick, and I wont get something like The Orbonne Monastery. While its a Fun Raid, I hate having to worry about The Thunder God wiping everyone and people Vote Abandon, which wastes the entire roulette, and peoples time.

I don't think most people care enough about the difference to take a potentially nightmarish Orbonne run over a piss easy quick LotA/ST run. Whatever the difference is, it's nothing like the difference between, say, Castrum and Prae. The bonus exp isn't greater then the base exp you get for doing content closer to your level.
From what I can tell, entering any DF thing fully heals you (recharges all cooldowns too!), so even if you were missing HP as a result of being swapped to a crafter class or something, you'd still be right as rain after you enter. The missing HP is definitely a result of reequipping gear after you've already entered (which, as has been pointed out, is unnecessary; you are able to put your gear back on right after you enter the queue)Also while the max hp passive Regen debate is going, I usually do fates or gathers while waiting and I see it happening to myself on occasion so its not a guarantee that they are ilvl cheesing.
