Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
This error is kind of connection error message. Usually it has to do with the Internet Explorer settings used by the Launcher. The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
- Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
- Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
- Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
- Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
- Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
- Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
I am getting this same error on two different computers. Tried the stuff in the post above and it did not fix it
Same here, I tried many fixes. Been trying for well over an hour now and nothing is working
There is a guy on another post that can't install the game with similar errors..something must be going on
I also get script error. Sometimes I can login and get to press the "start" button and get error 2002. I've gotten all the way to select my character to login and get booted in the loading screen. Or it will be the HTTPS system error.
It's affecting my connection to the forums as well. It times out a lot and only works at times. All other SE/FFXIV related websites seem to be working fine though

Issue with Rogers ISP. Affecting users in southern Ontario.
Makes sense. I'm with Rogers and live in Southern Ontario
A vpn will bypass their filtering problems and allow you to connect until they fix it.
I have no idea how to do that haha. They will fix it eventually. Ticket is submitted and they are aware of the issue. I have some TV shows to catch up on in the mean time.
