I'm in a city only when I take levequests and I change city every reset, so I cannot say "I live in Ul'dah". However I find Ul'dah the most comfortable, mainly because it's plain and I can use autorun profitably![]()

I have 10,000 needles,
I'm not a weaver,
and I'm not scared to use them.
Oooo, I was wondering if it was like that on other servers too.
On Lindblum, Ul'dah is the only place you have a decent chance tracking down items at a fair price with little effort. I wonder if someday SE will link all the wards somehow to ease up on congestion a bit. >.>
Wishing for cheap housing in the hamlets...
I love LL and i went to UD just to skill up my wvr.
When i hit r50 i'll move back to LL <3
I started in Grid only because a friend (who quit after the 2nd day) started there as well. The town itself isn't bad and adds an air of familiarity (a la Windurst), I just can't stand the Black Shroud. I first moved to LL as my first to 50 was mrd and I just wanted to be around the guild, but I moved to Uldah soon thereafter. Lol, my nm LS has their own spot in town similar to how my HNMLS had their spot in Upper Jeuno for FFXI![]()
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
Yeah Im really annoyed that I have to hang out in Uldah all the time. The colours are boring and the music is blah.
Cant we just open up Ishgard and get it over with already? I want to hang out there.
Cobra Kai Dojo for life.

I just can't stand anything about Ul'dah. There's nothing for me there. My three main Guilds are The Quiver's Hold and Wailing Barracks (both in Grid) and the Bismarck (Limsa) and my LS does leves in Grid so there is no reason for me to go there unless I can't find an item in the other wards
I started in Ul'dah because desert towns have always appealed to me. I loved how Thanalan looked during a sunset while I played the beta, and well... Okay, I'll be honest. Once I saw Thancred in the beta, I was sold. :Q That and I like the layout of the town, as it's easier to get around than the other two cities. Having Ul'dah be the halfway point between Limsa Lominsa and Gridania also helped.
So, so far it seems the only reason people are going to Ul'dah is beacause it wheir people are going. I'm on Besaid and from what i have gathered it seems that all servers are the same way. When they have Ishgard open up that will become the main hub. If Ishgard doesn't support Retainers then Ul'dah will be the main market place. If Ishgard does have retainers then it will become the main place to buy and sell and i see the three main cities sharing an Auction house. If they don't do that then the 3 cities will only be good for Guild/Craft Leves.
Started in Limsa, I mostly stay in La Noscea if I can help it. Ul'dah is nice and all but you can't beat the ocean air of Limsa!
