Migration to Ul'dah, Have you done it?

So I'm wondering how many people have migrated from Grid and LL to Ul'dah? About a month before the servers went offline Grid seemed like a ghost town, LL wasn't as bad but Ul'dah was the Hub for the entire game.

I started in Uldah because i liked how it was described and i played LL in the beta and the forest of Grid never was appealing to me.

I can understand why so many people have moved their, its centrally located on the map. The story line also continues from their for all three cities. Witch i thought was lazy. Each citie should have their own story and come together at the end.

Ul'dah has become the "Jeuno" of FFXIV...

Since it's centrally located, well laid-out, and tied to the main quests, players have migrated there from the other two cities.

Since the wards aren't connected, more people setting up their retainers in Ul'dah means a better chance of your items selling there and a better chance of finding what you're looking for there.

Even though the Black Shroud could use a complete redesign, I don't regret starting in Grid (that's where the Conjurer's Guild is) but I do spend most of my time in Ul'dah. Not only are the markets busier, but the higher concentration of players in the region means that the Horizon, Nanawa Mines, and Broken Water behests seem to be more popular than those around Grid and LL. You have a better chance of finding a group while doing Guildleves in the camps around Ul'dah than those around Grid or LL as well.

I wanted to start in the San D'Oria of Eorzea. Since I was very dissatisfied with the ugliness of Limsa, I decided to start in Bastok. I migrated before Alpha.

i did because our ls icreased in size so we went with a central hub in between the 3 cities and that left ud as our area. we have been there a while along with most of the major ls's in the karnak server. grid lost most of it's population because of people moving and people won't go there because alot of people still crash in the area. very few in my ls will even go there for a leve or behest.

Yes, its the best. Grid is a nightmare, and LL feels far away for some reason.

I haven't, but probably will eventually. It's probably like Jita in EVE Online -- everyone congregates there, and it's a massive trade hub.

I mean, I'd like it if all places were equally populated, but it only makes sense to have one central location where everyone typically hangs out.

i do know of some people that will go to other cities when craft grinding just for the guild supports. i go to limsa to do my local leves because the run does not seem to take as long going the limsa, bearded, bald, skull, iron, bloodshore, limsa, boat ride. i don't have to deal with the fight to get to blue fog or broken water areas. now i try to get all leve in city/bearded first so i try to cut down my run time as much as i can. that majority of time i spend in ud though.
