    Suggestion regarding L I M I T B R E A K

    Hello fellow FF Community!.

I have a short but maybe not so bad suggestion:

How about a instanced Area (accessable by all players solo) where you have Limit Break 3 and can literally do it for /gpose / Screenshot purposes? It's not a NEEDED thing, but I would consider it a very good possiblity to get some fancy screenshots goin =)

Lemme know what you think on that!

Rather than create a special area, I think it's more reasonable to ask that they just add it to the gpose menu as a feature. It'll just play the limit break for the job you have equipped. (Have it grayed out for jobs without LB).

I'm not entirely fussed on the design behind limit breaks anyway, considering historically in FF games limit breaks were on a per-character basis, and didn't need specific numbers of people in the group to charge a limit break up so that one person only could use it. But hey, that's how it is so I've come to accept it. Just a little rant there, I guess. On topic though, designing some way to be able to show off a limit break in a /gpose or something, it's a very good idea imo. They're very flashy and very cool, so being able to utilize them in posed screenshots would be a welcome addition.

To be fair, it's not like past games have been consistent with it either.

FFVI had 'desperation attacks' that could sometime proc when doing normal attacks at low health. FFVII had a bar build up over time that replaced your normal attack that you could hold onto between battles. VIII had them proc at low health (or a certain buff status) with an rng chance leading to a lot of mashing the triangle button to get them to go off. IX was similar to VII except your trance activated automatically and couldn't be saved between battles. X was similar to IX except you could save it for later battles.

Though I will admit I like FFXIV's system more in theory than in practice. The idea of using it for dps, heals or defense depending on the situation is neat, but it mostly actually means:

Tank is useless except when it's mandatory or used to cheese a mechanic like Byakko EX.
Healer 1/2 is useless and 3 is your 'oh crap' button when the party's gonna wipe.
And in all other situations dps is best. Though IMO they should change it so that aiming lb hits harder than casting lb, since you have to actually aim it to hit multiple targets where as casters just click the circle on the ground.

I like the idea of a party wide mechanic though it would be nice to have more reason to use tank/healer lbs outside of situations where you're gonna wipe if you don't.

I would love this personally since I am a Dancer. I have not seen and will likely never see my own Limit Break 3 if I can't have something like this.

A feature within gpose itself sounds ideal. However, it would be incredibly epic to take a lb selfie with suzano and the group.

I kinda just wish our LB were individualized during fights. So twoards the end of the last like 5% all the dps unleash their level 3 LB and boom everyone has fun with their ability for their Job. Dps not helping the healers much by avoiding things? bust a tank one mid fight to help out the group for extra breathing room. Got a boss that has doom mechanic forcing a 4 players to be dead at a single point? well our healers LB is ready can alternate when needed.

The thing is though, players don't realize weaponskills were originally intended to actually be FFXIV's version of Limit Breaks. They originated in FFXI where you had a basic auto attack and had to more or less just sit there trading blows with the enemy til you built up enough TP (100% in FFXI) where you could then let rip with a weaponskill (making it rather like FFVII's Limit Break system). And because the original version of FFXIV (1.0) was produced by the same guy (Hiromichi Tanaka, who also produced FFIII), FFXI's system was varied and reused in FFXIV, this time the TP required to use a weaponskill was far less and thus you could use them more frequently.

This changed after Tanaka left following 1.0's disasterous development and launch and Yoshi took over, resulting in ARR where you no longer had to gradually build up TP, but had 1000 TP ready to go and would slowly regenerate it over time (the reason for this is players were complaining about how slow 1.0's battle system was and wanted it to be faster and flashier like battle in 1.0's opening movie). And the culmination of this is now with SHBs TP has been completely scrapped and weaponskills can be spammed to your heart's content (some being given a MP cost instead as a concession to resource management).

This is also why the actual Limit Break system added with ARR in trials and dungeons is party wide. It's meant to be a literal desperation attack and not something for a single player to spam (because you were meant to have weaponskills for that). It's possible SE may continue to refine the Limit Break system, but I doubt it will be made purely unique and independent for each player.
