No.
If you don't clear the dps check you can't clear the raid = no loot.
Why should I work on my performance so I'm able to beat savage whilst others can just autoattack the boss and still get loot?
When I first started raiding my group couldn't beat A8S dps check for a month before we were burned out and gave up, so we didn't deserve to clear the fight and get loot.
Now I'm a better player and my static is better. We didn't clear E1S adds on our first try (granted, we only raided for an hour so we had death debuffs from figuring out mechanics) so we're getting better gear, working on rotation, and hopefully tomorrow we make it. Why should be be rewarded for underperforming?

They really do need a way of enforcing/encouraging people to put out DPS towards the higher end of what they're capable with their class/gear.

The DPS check for ES2 vs ES1 is a very significant step up and tons of groups are getting walled mostly because people aren't doing their rotations properly.

Nah, just those that take the hard effort of others for granted. Rudy had to work harder than anyone to accomplish what he did, he put his entire being into doing the best he could. The other guy had talent and took it for granted and put in no effort unless it was needed.

So those of us that put in the effort to clear content should not be penalized by having to carry those who think they can coast through any content just because they can. DPS checks are group checks. Yet the Healer or Tank that puts in everything they can help clear that check gets blasted, while the slacking DPS coast on by.

In short, you want the rewards? Expect to have to put in the effort yourself and quit expecting everyone else to do it for you. At some point, you have to take personal responsibility for your play. In group content, I'll do everything I can to help the group clear, but I also expect every other person in the group to be doing the same thing. Much like I would imagine any other reasonable person does.

At some point it has to become painfully clear to both those that refuse to work with anyone else like you implied, and those that take others efforts for granted like I implied, that they can no longer progress until something changes. Groups kicking people is a clear and painful solution to those refusing to work with anyone else. DPS checks are one of the few things that do make it painfully clear when someone is not putting in the effort they need to in order to clear the content.

Honestly, If you don't know how to play your job optimally you shouldn't even be in savage content.

Considering people complain about healers dpsing, how about we have a phase where dps get teleported to a room where they have to kill something before it explodes, while tanks and healers have to deal with consecutive tank busters, tank swap mechanics and/or heavy AoE damage.

Third party program tells where you're lacking. Use the subsequent information to improve during practice.

To the OP:

It'd be massively tilting to receive a lesser reward because the team cleared a fight despite not meeting the enrage on it. I'd rather wipe and go again for a full chance, for a real kill. Bosses that crap out loot won't retain a semblance of difficulty with regards to, at least, requiring us to understand our classes and to have a reason to strive for improvement to receive the full reward. And if we can't meet a check, we didn't play well enough to have earned the reward. Getting a lesser reward is just a "You Tried" sticker, it'd be an insult not just to us as players trying to get through the content, but also to the scene as a whole since it won't matter anymore if you're a good or decent or average player. It'd just be suped up normal mode, where you can have 50+ deaths and still clear.
