Has anyone quit healing?

Been a healer since I started playing this game, still a healer. Many, many years of playing WoW have taught me that nothing stays the same, there's no point in me giving up on a job I love and have lots of glamour collected for when things are going to end up changing for the better eventually. Besides, I play casual content and nobody's locking me out from that.

I've mained AST since HW, but starting leaning into tanking during SB and when I saw the changes to AST I wasn't really too interested in juggling them both. AST got the axe for ShB and I main GNB now. My other jobs I play are just a couple DPSs.

Scholar since falling in love with Arcanist in ARR. Picked up Paladin along side it in Stormblood for opptertunistic support. Played MCH and SMN aswell now in Shadowbringers.

Never considered any other job because I could take Scholar to anything and have fun. That slowly and surely changed over the years. I no longer eagerly await any fight to see how much I can exploit the skillset, but Scholar remains my favorite job even now while waiting on better times.

I tend to cycle my roles to keep a bit of variety when I play, but I have no desire to level my SCH anymore since I can't really have fun with it like I used to.

So yeah, I basically did quit healing

Not yet! I played White Mage a lot at the very beginning of ShB and it felt nice, but I've been kind of getting bored of it? Giving Scholar a chance now but I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it in the long run. I've been leveling MCH and I'm enjoying it a lot, though. I heard BLM was good in this expansion, and it was the one DPS I really enjoyed in Stormblood so I'll probably lean back on BLM & MCH if they fail to make satisfying adjustments to the healers.

I want to stick with AST and SCH but right now, I am maiming DNC.

Kinder I guess....to late to say for certain but then again i've never been a pure healer main....
2.0: when i raided I played Bard but when i quit due to heavy time demands of the group i was in and my mentality not being able to keep up i went scholar main mostly
3.0: When Mch was announced i thought i would love it and level that...i didn't...went back to scholar mixed with white mage and then went summoner main
4.0 Red mage got announced my main back from 11 jumped on that ship and loved it! but when we had issued with consistent static heals i went scholar (i'm seeing a pattern here) with my bf to become the healing duo of our raid group. though we did swap for final omega mainly cause i took a break from raiding and he cleared and it seemed safer to have the experienced person in charge of shields.

Now I'm a dancer main. I planned to switch as soon as dancer was announced. So the changes to healers didn't push me. I even have leveled my scholar to 80 (got to keep the old bike ready) just for when i want to or need to heal and i don't have to many issues. (though i was begging for energy drain back and we got it yay!) I most likely will do stuff as healer as its always a nice comfortable pair of pajama pants that you can't help but wear on a muggy day. But i do love my support dps's <3

I was a SCH main in 2.0, and switched to AST in 3.0-4.0.

In 5.0 after I realized these changes(before 5.05), I felt it was very hard to accept a job like this. So I didnt have any hesitation to have switched to DNC and had it capped now. But then...I realized for dps to find a group on PF, it is not an easy thing like before...

So I am leveling AST again now, and GNB as well. Somehow I am still not quite sure I will enjoy the AST even after the changes in 5.05. But anyway I will level it to 80.

Still playing AST. I'm flexible enough to accept changes, and to enjoy it. But you people do you.

I mained SCH for HW and SB and already got burned out on mostly casting Broil at the end of SB. That's when I pretty much decided already to not main healer for Shb unless there would be some significant changes in either gameplay or damage intake.
When no new healer and the healer "changes" were announced I was not impressed, to say it nicely. I gave it a chance anyway and leveled SCH/SMN as my first jobs. Questing as SMN and doing roulettes as SCH. Btw, if I didn't have SMN for questing I would have fallen asleep doing the MSQ+fates pressing only one button...
After healing the extreme trials and pretty much casting Broil 80-90% of the time, I said "screw this" and switched to tanking.

I'm currently maining DRK and I really enjoy that "breath of fresh air" right now. Maybe I will switch back to healing someday. But right now - I kinda lost interest.
