capped on allagan tomestone of poetics - what can I do with them?

I have shire gear or better, but dont have access to stormblood yet (working on dragonsong). So, afaik nothing to spend them on. They are going to waste now since Im capped on them. Is there a tomestone or something I should trade these for to save for later? I see I can trade for encrypted tomestone, rowena's token (poetics), and rowena's token (soldiery) but I dont know what those are for or if it would help.

You can upgrade your Shire gear with items in the Other tab from the same vendor. Take the item and the gear to another vendor in Idyllshire to trade it in for Augmented Shire.

If you have everything you want and you're still capped, you can buy Demimateria and sell it to a vendor for some extra gil.

You'll have to wait till early StormBlood to buy i390 scaevan gear with them. That's the best gear once you reach level 70.

But do you have upgraded Ironworks and Shire gear for all combat classes?

That's what I do with my poetics when I start capping on them. I go and start buying and upgrading the 50 and 60 (and now 70) gear for the rest of the jobs. I haven't yet reached the point where I've completed all of those sets. I'll figure that part out when I get there, I guess.

If you have nothing to spend poetics on gear wise, as in you upgraded your gear to 270 & don't need them you could always buy material or materials & either sell them, or put them into your gear.
Also going to assume you don't have access to SB yet.

Never cap on poetics. Never. Buy resources to sell, work on a relic, get gear for an alt in advance, get things to level up your desynth, etc. There's always SOMETHING to spend it on to make a profit, so never cap them

This. Relics ate my tomestsones. All of them. No mercy.
ARR is pretty tame now but HW relic still eats thousands of poetics with no way to lower the costs for the most part.
If you want to actively play some other combat classes, the (augmented) 50/60 gear is always worth investing into. Otherwise: mats.
